Did You Know...

... that the Czech teams are holding their ground on this weekend's overall leaderboard?

Six rounds completed in the Czech Republic
posted Jul 19th, 2015 - This weekend, Czech Skydiving League Director Jan Klapka tried for the third time to get his 4-way teams into freefall from jump planes, and he eventually succeeded.

He had tried two times earlier this year, and bad weather did not allow the Czech teams to post any scores on outdoor leaderboards. This weekend, six teams completed six rounds with great results.

Bad Boys and CZ Ladies handled the block-heavy and, with three slot-switching sequences, challenging AAA Class draw very well. Bad Boys had posted a higher meet average only once in May 2014, when the 30-pointer for a Super Sequence (F,J,A,G,K) boosted the outcome. Only the 15-pointer for the faster sequence in Round 5 held the Bad Boys back from posting a new team record average.

First outdoor competition: Rookie Class team Mimozemky
The same sequence in Round 5 allowed the CZ Ladies, with Jan Klapka's wife Jirina Klapkova, to tie a score for a round with the Czech Republic's Open Class national team for the first time.

The 10.2 average of the CZ Ladies was also the first time that the national team in 4-way Women beat the 10-average benchmark. The CZ Ladies had finished 8th of ten teams with a 9.2 average at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014.

Last and not least, Jan Klapka also guided once again two new Rookie Class teams successfully from indoor to outdoor competition. Flying Circus and Mimozemky both launched their 4-way team careers with the beginning of the Czech indoor winter season at the Hurricane Factory last year, Flying Circus a few months earlier than Mimozemky. This weekend, both teams attended their first outdoor competition.

First outdoor competition: Rookie Class team Flying Circus
This weekend's overall leaderboard began to take shape with the first scores from the United Kingdom. The six Czech teams are currently sharing the leaderboard with 25 teams who competed in Dunkeswell.

The British teams have the lead in all four categories, however, the Czech teams managed to place one team within the Top 3 positions of three competition classes. The Bad Boys are in 2nd place behind Vision 99, Zoonte is currently holding the 3rd place in the A Class, and Flying Circus is also in 3rd place in the Rookie Class.

Only the British AA Class teams were too strong for the Czech team Best of Relative to get their team name added to the top scores overview on the SKYLEAGUE.COM front page, as well. The Czech Ladies are in the middle of the AAA Class field, and Mimozemky is currently in 6th place of 11 Rookie Class teams.
