Did You Know...

... that Vision 99 has turned from a top contender into a top challenger?

Vision 99 lineup at the World Meet 2014
posted Jul 20th, 2015 - Last weekend's competition draw was just as challenging for all AAA Class teams as it was for the two teams in the Czech Republic, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported yesterday.

The scores of six AAA Class teams are currently posted on the overall leaderboard, with four of them from the United Kingdom, where Skydive Dunkeswell hosted the UKSL July meet. The 25 British teams completed all six rounds on Saturday from two Beech 99 jump planes.

Three of the four British AAA Class teams posted meet averages slightly below their previous outdoor results this year. Only the CZ Ladies and Vision 99, on the top of the leaderboard, were able to improve their team record averages.

Complete Vision 99 lineup at the UK Nationals 2014
It was an important confidence booster and test for Vision 99, the British national 4-way team in 4-way Open at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014.

Vision 99 had competed with two substitutes at the World Meet in Prostejov, XL members Steve Hamilton and John McIver, and had the complete lineup available at the UK Nationals 2014 a few weeks later.

That's where Vision 99 posted the previous team record average of 18.5 after ten rounds.

Last weekend's 18.7 average came after a 6-round meet with 13 blocks, nine random formations and three sequences with slot switchers.

UK top contender: Satori XL 2015
Vision 99 has four weeks for the final preparations for the UK Nationals 2015, which are scheduled for the August 22 weekend. Last year's British national team was probably the top contender for the UK Nationals 2015, with 2014 champion Voodoo most likely missing the meet.

There will be serious challenges by the newly formed team ACM and by NFTO, with an all-female lineup, and Joey Jones will most likely have a strong 4mula, as well. However, things changed dramatically for all British top contenders when Satori announced the team's comeback with an XL lineup.

Vision 99's team member at the World Meet 2014, John McIver, is now back with Satori XL, and his lineup with Pete Allum, Ian Hodgkinson, Julia Swallow and Dave Head on camera has become the top favorite for the national championships. Vision 99 has turned into one of the challengers, and last weekend's 18.7 average is a promising starting point into the final preparations...
