... that all UK teams are not done yet?

Battle for 2nd place: Vision 99

posted Aug 23rd, 2015 - The 70 teams at the UK Nationals 2015 needed both weekend days this year at Skydive Hibaldstow to complete two of the four 4-way events.

The weather situation forces all AAA Class teams and several Rookie Class teams to come back on Monday for the remaining rounds. Only the AA and A Class leaderboards were complete on Sunday evening

There are no big surprises in the AAA Class, as Satori XL became the top favorite as soon as the team announced a comeback with the new lineup.

There is a fierce battle between 4mula and Vision 99 for the 2nd place though, and Joey Jones' 2015 lineup is two points ahead after Round 8.

Lynne Murray for ACM
Judge Kate Charters told the host that it was one of the most exciting competitions she had seen in a while: "Especially in the AAA there are a lot of battles going on. It seems that the UK scene has matured a lot this year, and in fact the Top 7 teams are all over a 15-average."

It's an interesting situation in the United Kingdom this year, with Satori's comeback, and without the defending champion Voodoo who miss the meet due to Vana Parker's surgery on her ankle. ACM had bad luck with the team's health situation, as well. Lynne Murray had to replace Debbie Lamsley, who injured her arm a week before the national championships.

Then the top AAA Class teams go different ways. Satori XL has no further plans for this year, while 4mula travels to the Netherlands and compete at the FAI World Cup 2015, together with Eclipse and Phoenix. Vision 99 plans to compete for the United Kingdom at the World Air Games.

A Class gold medals in 2014: Kintama
The AA and A Class teams at the UK Nationals could celebrate their 2015 champions on Sunday evening after the completion of the scheduled eight rounds.

Kintama won the 2nd consecutive set of BPA gold medals with a clear victory in the AA Class. That comes a year after the team won in a very similar way at the UK Nationals 2014 - in the A Class.

It was a much tougher battle for the medals in this year’s A Class competition. Winner Tyanno4us Rex and bronze medalist Future Cynics were separated by only three points and all three teams exchanged blows round by round. Tyanno4us Rex was battle-proof after competing at the June and July meets of the United Kingdom Skydiving League. The A Class winner finished both times in 2nd place, while June and July winner Awesome* 4some ended up in 4th place and without any medals at the national championships, despite the team's highest 2015 meet average...
