Did You Know...

... that Joey Jones reported from the Italian Nationals 2015?

Silver in the UK with 4mula
posted Sep 1st, 2015 - The Italian Nationals 2015 was another event that took place last week and crowned the national 4-way champions of 2015.

EX3mo's 4-way lineup, Italy's national team of the past years, won again after fending off a new challenge by last year's silver medalist, Energy Cumiana. EX3mo will now travel to Teuge in the Netherlands to compete at the FAI World Cup 2015.

Joe Jones, who recently reported from the UK Nationals 2015 where his team 4mula won the silver medals, was now coaching Energy Cumiana in Italy and finished in 2nd place once again. He provided more details of the course of the 10-round competition.

Silver in Italy with Energy Cumiana
Joey Jones: "This is the powered by Sunpath roving reporter Joey Jones reporting from the Italian Nationals. This year's turnout is very good with 19 teams entering in three categories. Returning champions eX3mo are the early favorites, but returning silver medalist Energy are hoping to pose a serious threat. Kewara is also making a fun comeback, and who knows what they will bring to the table. Team 610 (Sei Uno Zero) is also returning with the same lineup.

"After attending three nationals this year, I can tell you this one will not be hampered by weather, unless you consider the long days and brutal heat a problem. The Italians seem to have no problem with it, and things are in full swing. After one round Energy is leading with 18 points, Kewara in 2nd with 17 and 610 and Extremo tied for 4th with 16. Today's jumps look fairly fast and I am looking to see how the dust settles after a few more jumps.

Kewara comeback: Follow up story coming...
"Round 2 has only added to the intensity here in Rome. An NJ on exit from Energy was followed by an excellent jump from 601, leaving a 2-team tie for 1st place after two rounds, with eX3mo tightly joining their tail.

"The rest of Day 2 continued to be full of ups and downs. Energy’s day was marred by 8 NJ’s in Rounds 5. The other teams were all hit somewhere in the day, except Extremo’s experience has shown through and they have a solid lead. Despite their video troubles and being as low as 5th at one point in the day, Energy has fought their way back to a 2-way tie with 610 who is skydiving very well. Tomorrow is another day!

"Day 3 consisted of three technical rounds. Energy's video troubles seem to have ended, and they gained one point back on eX3mo and solidified 2nd place. With one round tomorrow, the medal places seem all wrapped up although Kewara is only three points out of 3rd place and seems to have a great meet, despite being out of the game for so long. Well done, girls, or in my best Italian “Brave Fragoline”.
