Did You Know...

... that Dallas 350 and Spaceland Lite had their final test at the Dallas Super Cup?

A Class winner: NCSL team Semaphore
posted Sep 21st, 2015 - The overall leaderboard of the September 12th weekend brought together teams from three different events in Texas (Dallas), Northern (Skydance) and Southern California (Perris) in different ways.

Teams from Texas and Southern California shared the AAA and AA Class leaderboards, while teams from Northern California competed with teams from Texas in the A Class. All Rookie Class teams that weekend came from both parts of California.

Teams from Texas took the first places in the AAA and AA categories. NCSL team Semaphore interfered with the complete Texas sweep in three of the four outdoor categories. FKTD won the Rookie Class competition for the Southern California Skydiving League.

Dallas Super Cup 2015 winner: Dallas 350
The AAA Class competition on September 12th featured the next Texas showdown between Dallas 350 and Spaceland Lite at the Dallas Super Cup 2015. The Sun Path Products NSL News story on March 23rd had brought the friendly rivalry between both teams to the attention of the audience after the 1-point indoor battle at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2015.

The September meet was the first outdoor competition for both teams with their new lineups. David Grabowski has replaced Richard Rothery in Spaceland Lite's tail slot. Former Mass Defiance member Jim Rees joined Dallas 350 at the beginning of the 2015 season.

Dallas 350 had the upper hand at the end of the 6-round Super Cup meet. However, the scores per round show clearly that the distance is close enough to promise a great new battle at the USPA Nationals 2015 at the end of October.

2nd place at the Dallas Super Cup: Spaceland Lite
It will be the first time that both teams compete together in the 4-way AAA/Open Class event of the USPA Nationals. Spaceland Lite won the AAA/Advanced Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2011 and had to move up into the Open Class. Dallas 350 won USPA gold in the Advanced Class last year and now follows Spaceland Lite into the same category.

The two Texas teams had their first indirect competition at the USPA Nationals 2013 where Dallas 350 placed 5th (13.5) in the AAA/Advanced Class and Spaceland Lite 11th (14.2) in the AAA/Open Class. The order was reversed last year when Spaceland Lite had to deal with a few major obstacles on the way to the national championships.

Of course, the medal positions in the AAA/Open Class are far away at the USPA Nationals. Dallas 350 and Spaceland Lite may have a few other teams to compete with at the bottom area of the Open Class leaderboard. They can also have their eyes on the Advanced Class leaderboard, where the other US amateur 4-way teams compete using the whole dive pool...
