Did You Know...

... that Final Fire is Austria's first team in the world's Top 6 since the introduction of semifinals and finals?

Final Fire at the World Cup in Teuge
posted Sep 24th, 2015 - The aftermath of the FAI World Cup 2015 continues with the meet videos of the national 4-way team from Austria, Final Fire.

The scores in Teuge were not the team's record numbers, even though a 17+ average sounds quite impressive coming from a small country like Austria.

Final Fire had posted an 18.8 average after ten rounds with the same lineup at last year's national championships and followed up with 18.4 at the Austrian Nationals 2015. The 18.8 average of 2014 is the highest 10-round average by a 4-way team from Austria.

The 17.1 average at the World Cup 2015 was not a surprise for Thomas Haber, Patrick Kosmus, Kurt Seinitzer, Horst Scheiber and Horst Richter on camera, who have now completed their 4th year together

Team FILA at the World Meet 2006 in Germany
It was still a very special event for Final Fire and Austria. The 6th place in Teuge was the first time that a team from Austria completed all ten rounds at an FAI World Cup or World Meet, by making the first cut for the semifinals after Round 8 and the second cut after Round 9 for the finals.

Even the 5th place was not far away, as Final Fire moved closer to UK team 4mula round by round in the second half of the meet.

4mula had won each of the first five rounds, while Final Fire outscored the British team by five points between Round 6 and Round 10.

The team members have known each other for many years, even though they trained and competed in different teams, and they are the most experienced 4-way competitors in Austria.

The current lineup came from two teams who began challenging each other in Austria a decade ago, Team FILA and Monkey Circus.

Fun with the Fun Flag in Teuge: Final Fire
Patrick Kosmos and Kurt Seinitzer competed with FILA for Austria at the World Meet 2006 in Germany, with Horst Richter on camera. Monkey Circus then competed in Maubeuge 2008, with Thomas Haber, Horst Scheiber and former FILA member Kurt Seinitzer in the lineup.

Patrick Kosmus and Kurt Seinitzer were back together with the Ravens for the Mondial Dubai 2012. Then the current combination of former team mates and opponents joined forces for Final Fire and have won the Austrian Nationals ever since. The complete lineup was not available for the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov, where only half of the team (Thomas Haber, Kurt Seinitzer, Elisabeth Haber, Eva Sumasgutner, with Horst Richter on camera) competed as Final Edition.

Final Fire averages approx. 50 training jumps per year, including the meet rounds. They enjoy their time together and are not planning to step back at any time soon, as they told the Sun Path Products NSL News in Teuge: "We will continue until somebody is ready to beat us in Austria. In fact, we will probably even continue when a team takes over the top spot..."
