Did You Know...

... that four world champions have to fix a serious problem for the Clash of Champions?

Arizona Airspeed and NMP-PCH Hayabusa at the Wind Games 2015
posted Oct 9th, 2015 - The Clash of Champions at Inflight Dubai at the end of November will feature the second direct confrontation between NMP-PCH Hayabusa and Arizona Airspeed this year, who will then both follow up with ten outdoor rounds at the World Air Games.

Hayabusa won the first duel between the two current lineups at the Wind Games 2015, and both teams have not been at the same place and the same time ever since. The double-header in Dubai will pay back for the long break.

Both events have very different formats. Only a limited number of invited national teams will compete at the World Air Games, while the Clash of Champions has no restrictions related to the eligibility of competitors in any team's lineup.

Four world class competitors take advantage of this freedom of choice and have formed a team that could easily contend for top spots, medals and cash at the Clash of Champions.

30.5 average at the World Challenge 2010
Three French 4-way world champions of 2010 (Julien Degen, Mathieu and Guillaume Bernier) were able to join forces with reigning 4-way world champion Roy Janssen from Belgium, and they have signed up for the indoor competition in Dubai.

This lineup is so strong that it might even put some pressure on the two undisputed top teams in the world, Hayabusa and Airspeed.

In fact, the three Frenchmen know how to outscore both teams in a wind tunnel. They had Jeremie Rollett in the lineup when they won the World Challenge 2010 with a 30.5 average.

Roy Janssen was in Hayabusa's 2010 lineup when any other team than Hayabusa won the World Challenge for the last time.

The Belgians have won each event in Bedford ever since, with Roy Janssen in the tail slot between 2011 and 2014. Julien Degen, Mathieu and Guillaume Bernier followed up with the outdoor gold medals in 2010, and Roy Janssen did the same last year.

NMP-PCH Hayabusa at the World Challenge 2010
Neither NMP-PCH Hayabusa nor Arizona Airspeed has posted a 30.5 average or higher yet with their current lineups.

However, the 30.5 average at the World Challenge 2010 was supported by a Super Sequence in Round 2 (J,M,E,D,L) while the competition draw at the Wind Games had Block 1 (Snowflake - Snowflake) in the fastest sequence of the meet (Q,1,O,P).

The French/Belgian combination plans to spend two hours for indoor training before the Clash of Champions, which the team will have to use to fix one serious problem.

They have two 4-way world champions for the tail slot (Guillaume Bernier, Roy Janssen) and one of them will have to move to inside center. Nice problem to have...
