Did You Know...

... that Voodoo and Jazz Republic had their last indoor test before Prague at the Bodyflight Revenge?

Visiting from Belgium: Jetmax
posted Oct 20th, 2015 - Bodyflight Bedford, host of the annual unofficial indoor world championship, the World Challenge, recently changed the company name to Twinwoods Adventure and held it's second ever Revenge meet on the 26th of September.

Unlike the World Challenge, which includes an artistic category, the Revenge meet is just a 4-way competition in all four categories (AAA - AA - A - Rookie) and gives teams a second chance who didn't do so well at the national championships to get revenge on their competitors.

The competition was only two weeks after the British Nationals 2015, and as a result suffered a little bit with fewer teams entering than the previous year. Still of the 27 teams who entered five were not from the United Kingdom, with team Jazz Republic traveling all the way from South Africa to take part, along with Jetmax from Belgium, Swiss team Air-W and the Portuguese Atmosfera squad.

Special creeper transportation: Revolution Flatfly
In the Rookie Class, Chatter Chaps were dominant from the start outscoring their next closest rivals, 4tune Rookies in every round. At the award ceremony team captain Peter Knutston thanked Bodyflight for the prize money given to them at the World Challenge in April, which they used for team training throughout the summer.

Revolution Flat Fly were a crowd pleaser, as not only were all four members freeflyers by trade but this was Ben White's first competition since his accident last year. He used a creeper to get from his wheelchair to the door and then wore a bespoke frame produced by the Bodyflight team to hold his legs in position whilst flying.

All the effort was worth it, as this team from the dark side having never done 4-way before stayed off the bottom of the leaderboard.

Cooped Up in action
In the A Class, Swiss team Air-W managed to hold on to their lead with some stiff competition from Belgian's Jetmax, who scored a massive 26-pointer in Round 4, eight points more than anyone else. British team Blackhawk came in 3rd, far outperforming their own team record of the UK Nationals, where they took the silver medals in the A Class.

Nobody Expects the Wurst had won the AA Class silver medals at the British Nationals 2015 and then moved up to the AAA Class for the first time at the Revenge. This left the AA Class competition anyone's for the taking. Why So Serious beat Flarial by 11 points despite only outscoring them in three rounds.

For the bronze medals, Pointless outscored Cooped Up, a team made up of some members of their arch rivals at the UK Nationals: Chicken Mafia.

Fun in the AAA Class: Nobody Expects the Wurst
The AAA Class competition saw a welcome return of team Voodoo who had taken some time off this year for Vana Parker to have surgery on her leg. Voodoo dominated the competition from the start beating closest rivals team Py by 29 points. Nobody Expects the Wurst launched their AAA Class career with an 11.8 average.

Host Bryony Doughty also reported from Bedford that the judges worked hard to get as many scores out as possible before the all-important rugby match between Wales and England kicked off at 8 pm: "This was shown in the TV's in the bar, and whilst the results of the Rugby may not have been what many of the English on site were hoping for it didn't stop everyone from celebrating their own team results long into the night..."

Voodoo and Jazz Republic are now getting ready for their next indoor competition at the 1st FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championships. The Revenge 2016 is scheduled for October 1st.
