Did You Know...

... that the 2015 season brought the first triple for the VAF Warriors in Denmark?

VAF Warriors exit at the World Cup 2015
posted Oct 21st, 2015 - The latest scores before the 1st FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championships, beginning this Friday, came from Denmark, where the 4-way teams competed at Bodyflight Bedford for the second national indoor championships.

The Danish national 4-way team, the VAF Warriors, managed to squeeze in another meet after just coming back from the Netherlands and the FAI World Cup 2015.

The VAF Warriors were in the mix for a slot in the finals until Round 6 in Teuge, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported on September 10th.

The VAF Warriors then lost some ground in the following three rounds and just made it into the semifinals of the European Championships.

Denmark's national 4-way team then had one week until the indoor championship began in Bedford.

The Danish Indoor Nationals turned out to be much better for the VAF Warriors and was a motivating warm-up for the upcoming competition in Prague.

The 21.6 average after the ten rounds in Bedford was a new team record.

The indoor title did not come without a fight. In fact, Pangaea made it quite difficult again for the VAF Warriors, after they had challenged the national team just as much at this year's outdoor championships.

Pangaea lost the meet actually in only one round, with a 15-point loss in Round 3.

VAF Warrior Martin Soeby Mikkelsen said that his team was just cruising for the seven remaining rounds: "We could definitely feel that a lot of the pressure was off.

The only pressure we felt, was the pressure to not mess up our very comfortable lead. So the rest of the rounds where a bit conservative, with regards to engineering and taking risks."

VAF Warriors exit at the DFU Cup
Pangaea actually won Rounds 4 - 10 by one point, however, the damage was done in Round 3, and VAF Warriors carried the lead over the finish line easily.

This year's last Danish 4-way competition had a special meaning, as well. The VAF Warriors accomplished something that had not happened in the recent Danish 4-way history.

For the first time ever, the same team won all three Danish 4-way meets: DFU Open, Outdoor Nationals and Indoor Nationals.

Martin Soeby Mikkelsen said that the VAF Warriors are very proud of this unique triple. In fact, this year's success makes it a 5-meet national winning streak for the VAF Warriors.

The team is now hoping to add three more 1st places next year...
