Two of the three 4-way events needed an extra round to determine the USPA medal winners. Only Arizona Airspeed, SDC Rhythm XP and Golden Knights were unchallenged in their medal positions, which are identical with the placing at the USPA Nationals 2014.
The Air Force Advanced Class team Smolder, with former Airspeed member Andy Honigbaum coaching, ran away from the field. Perris Quattro, with Airspeed 4-way world champion of 2012, Josh Hall as the player coach, was safely in 2nd place. Event Horizon and Dauntless 5 needed the extra round to break the tie for the bronze medals. Air Force Allegiance won the jump-off round for the 3rd place in the Intermediate Class over Southern Mix, who were guided by player coach John D'Annunzio.
The NSL-TV camera followed the Golden Knights with their preparations for Round 1. The competition draw brought the fastest sequence of the 8-way competition to the Open and Advanced Class teams in the opening round.
Chris Talbert explained the details, while the visiting Qatar Tigers with coach Gary Smith were watching the Golden Knights on the creepers. Team captain Sean Sweeney added his own thoughts to Chris Talbert's comments, and both agreed that it would be a fast sequence, with an expected score in the high 20s.
