Did You Know...

... that Parachute Montreal Fuzion is getting ready for the World Air Games?

Fuzion at the 4th DIPC 2013
posted Nov 19th, 2015 - The upcoming double-header in Dubai, Clash of Champions and World Air Games 2015, brings the best 4-way and 8-way teams in the world together at the end of the year and will probably cause some adjustments of the outdoor and indoor team world rankings.

The Canadian national team in 4-way Women, Parachute Montreal Fuzion, added a quick visit in DeLand to the team's preparations for the World Air Games after a short training season in Canada, due to bad weather in the summer.

The team members said that their great group dynamics and matching goals allow them to come to agreements easily, and the plans for the additional training in DeLand were made with a very short term decision. The Sun Path Products NSL News used the opportunity to invite Fuzion for a live NSL Talk conversation.

Fuzion at the World Meet in Prostejov 2014
Fuzion went through some personnel changes in 2014. Original members Janylene Breton and Marie-Eve Dallaire began the year with Kassandra Gagnon and Gabrielle Prevost in the lineup. Kassandra Gagnon did not continue after a few months, and Fuzion asked Marie-Eve Dallaire's former 4Astrophe team mate Valerie Bisson to join the team.

Valerie Bisson then celebrated her 18th birthday at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014, where Fuzion finished in 4th place with a 14.7 average.

Another slot opened up when Gabrielle Prevost left the team at the end of the 2014 season. Renee Point explained during the NSL Talk how she tried out for the slot, "begged and pleaded" until she became the new Fuzion point. She was a Crimson Fox member in 2012 and also trained and competed with Canada's 8-way team Maximum Ride.

Fuzion training in DeLand last week
Parachute Montreal Fuzion's new lineup had a good start into the 2015 season, even though the Canadian summer weather did not help the team training much. Fuzion started with a 21.9 average at the indoor meet on home turf in March and followed up with a 15.7 average at the national outdoor championships in July.

The 15.7 average brings Fuzion within striking distance of the bronze medal position, which Kaizen took with a 16.1 average in Prostejov 2014. Fuzion is still in 4th place of the outdoor team world rankings and has tied UK team Fly Like a Girl in 3rd place of the indoor rankings.

Fuzion will now try to get closer to the world's bronze medal position in 4-way Women outdoor competition and travels to Dubai for the World Air Games 2015. The Canadian team does not have enough vacation time left to attend the Clash of Champions, as well. The World Air Games begin on December 8th.
