... that the World Challenge 2016 has once again a separate 4-way Women leaderboard?

First winner in 2012: Just 4 Fun
posted Feb 16th, 2016 - The World Challenge has had a separate 4-way Women leaderboard since 2012. The French Deep Blue Defenders were the last team who posted scores on the combined AAA Class leaderboard at the World Challenge 2011. The 23.6 average brought the 9th place in Bedford.

Paul Mayer then introduced the 4-way Women leaderboard a year later to match the FAI/IPC categories and make the separate competition more exciting. Eight teams signed up for the 4-way Women competition, and the British team Just 4 Fun (Tarn Hollis, Amanda Kemp, Liz Matthews, Claire "Sparky" Scott) won by two points over the Deep Blue Defenders, who would continue to become the world champions in this category at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

The Deep Blue reunion at the World Challenge 2013 was rewarded with the 1st place, and the French national lineup of 2014 won a year later in Bedford before defending the French gold medals successfully in Prostejov.

The Golden Knights traveled to Bedford for the first time in 2014 and finished six points (24.7 - 24.1) behind the French Girls.
They came back last year when the French Girls did not have a complete lineup in 4-way Women, and the Golden Knights won with a 26.2 average.

Both teams have the event on the competition agenda this year, even though the Golden Knights have not signed up yet.

The French FLY-IN Girls have registered the current and complete lineup for the World Challenge 2016, which will create the first indoor showdown in 4-way Women at the beginning of the world meet year.

Both teams will first compete from a Twin Otter at the Shamrock Showdown 2016 before traveling to Bedford two weeks later.

The first seeding of the currently registered 4-way Women teams was not very difficult, even though the NFTO and Les Stunts scores in Bedford will be different and higher compared to earlier and last year's results.

The Belgian national team left the 20-average benchmark behind at the 2nd Flyspot Open Championship 2015, and NFTO's 18.8 average at the Wind Games 2016 will most likely turn into 20+ at the World Challenge.

Both teams will not be able to threaten the French national team and the Golden Knights, however, a good battle for the 3rd place is probably in the works.

The seeding on the combined AAA Class leaderboard was more challenging. The preview of the expected rankings is once again based on last year's indoor averages. The French FLY-IN Girls caught up with and passed the French Open Class team at the Clash of Champions 2015, even though the whole year's average still places the Open Class team ahead. The internal French competition will also continue in Bedford...
