posted Mar 10th, 2016 - While many of the U.S. 4-way teams and several French 8-way competitors were in Raeford last weekend for the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016, French 4-way competitors had their own indoor meet in Paris, the Aerokart Boot Competition 2016.

Both events were connected indirectly in a special way. The Golden Knights had split up their 8-way lineup and also competed in 4-way. The Gold team consisted of four highly experienced 4-way and 8-way members, while the Black lineup included 8-way videographer (Brian Ray) and 8-way alternate (David Flynn).

The Aerokart competition did not include 8-way, however, four members of the French national 8-way team were competing in Paris, while the Golden Knights posted a 28.2 average in Raeford.

Julien Degen had put together a new Weembi lineup for the Aerokart competition, and the name of the team, "Demi 8", reflects the connection to the French 8-way team. His Weembi lineup consisted of four members of the French national 8-way team this time: Julien Degen, Julien Olek, Thomas Perrin, Clement Martin Saint Leon.

Julien Olek, Thomas Perrin and Clement Martin Saint Leon know each other in 4-way just as well as the Golden Knights 3-way in the Gold lineup (Kurt Isenbarger, Matt Davidson, Sean Sweeney). They have competed together at several indoor and outdoor meets, mostly known

under the team name Gavroche.

Julien Olek and Clement Martin Saint Leon had Emmanuel "Manu" Sarrazin and Bruno Perin in their lineup when they competed for Gavroche last time at the Clash of Champions 2015. Julien Degen had a different Weembi lineup in Dubai (Guillaume Bernier, Mathieu Bernier, Julien Degen, Roy Janssen).

The better half of the Golden Knights 8-way team won last weekend's indirect competition with the "Demi 8" of the French national 8-way team. The competition draw was not the same at both meets, and the audience has the opportunity to compare the draws and the videos.

Demi 8, Golden Knights Gold and Black will all go back to 8-way training after their most recent excursion into 4-way competition. They have their real showdown scheduled for the Mondial 2016 in September, where both will try to win the 8-way gold medals. Both French national 4-way teams (FLY-IN 4-way Open and 4-way Women) will compete at the World Challenge 2016, the French FLY-IN Girls also at the Shamrock Showdown 2016.
