Did You Know...

... that a 2nd Generation of 4-way competitors comes from the Blue Sky Ranch?

2nd Generation at Paraclete XP
posted Mar 14th, 2016 - The Gold lineup of the Golden Knights dominated the 4-way AAA/Open Class competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 with eight highscores in ten rounds.

However, the winner of the AA/Intermediate Class did not even allow another team to tie the score for any of the ten rounds, and 2nd Generation finished 35 points ahead of the team in 2nd place.

The Sun Path Products NSL News was surely interested in finding out who is behind the team name and the 20.5 average, and the team accepted the NSL Talk invitation at Paraclete XP. The live interview took place right before the award ceremony was held.

The indoor competition in Raeford was the third meet for 2nd Generation, however, it was the first one with the complete lineup that plans to stay together throughout the entire 2016 season.

2nd Generation at SkyVenture New Hampshire
Christopher Kuhlmann, Joey Marshall and Brenn Richards knew each other from skydiving at the Blue Sky Ranch in New York and eventually competed together for the first time at the USPA Nationals 2015, with Dean Van Tassell in the lineup. Then they made new plans for 2016 with Michelle Karamon and started training in December last year.

Michelle Karamon was not available for SkyVenture New Hampshire's annual indoor competition on January 9th, and Terry Seaworth filled the open slot. The A Class lineup at SkyVenture New Hampshire left the field just as much in the dust as the AA Class lineup at Paraclete XP, and the original 2nd Generation went back to the AA/Intermediate Class after New Hampshire.

The team name 2nd Generation reflects not only a young lineup with an average age of 25 years. The youngest member, Brenn Richards, grew up at the Ranch, where her parents met and built the skydiving center, together with uncle Billy Richards. She is literally the second family generation of skydiving at the Ranch.

2nd Generation: USPA medal contender this year?
Brenn Richards made her first tandem jump when she was 11 years young and her first solo with 15. Three years later she has logged approx. 400 jumps and has become addicted to 4-way training and competition, together with her 2nd Generation team mates.

The video shows the performance of a well-trained 4-way team, which is not a surprise with Niklas Hemlin as the team's coach.

Arizona Airspeed’s Inside Center had approx. seven hours of wind tunnel time with 2nd Generation since December 2015.

2nd Generation was not a factor in the race for Intermediate Class medals (16th - 9.1) at the USPA Nationals 2015.

However, the team plans to make 150 training jumps this year and add several more hours of flying time at the nearby wind tunnel. There is no doubt that 2nd Generation will be in contention for medals this year...
