... that the French FLY-IN Girls compete in the AAA/Open Class in Bedford?

5th consecutive Hayabusa victory at the World Challenge 2015
posted Mar 24th, 2016 - Four of the seven AAA Class teams who competed at the Shamrock Showdown 2016 in DeLand are now getting ready for the next indoor competition, the World Challenge 2016 in Bedford.

82 teams are currently registered for this year's unofficial indoor world championship, and a new participation record is still in reach.

The AAA Class field is once again headed by NMP PCH Hayabusa who will try to win the event for the 6th consecutive time. Arizona Airspeed will not be in Bedford, and there is not much doubt that the Belgian 4-way indoor and outdoor world champions will take the 1st place. However, as little competition there will be for the top spot, as most exciting the battle for the places behind Hayabusa and the rest of the jackpot promises to be.

Aerodyne French Girls at the Shamrock Showdown 2016
The Aerodyne French Girls finished right behind Arizona Airspeed at the Shamrock Showdown and outscored Qatar Tigers, SDC Rhythm XP and Satori XL. They had hoped to meet the Golden Knights in DeLand, who missed the outdoor competition after attending the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016. The Golden Knights also had the World Challenge on the original 2016 schedule and recently canceled the trip to Bedford, as well.

The French FLY-IN Girls, with their indoor name next in Bedford, were disappointed that they would miss the direct competition with their strongest opponent at the World Challenge, as well. They reacted quickly and withdrew from the 4-way Women competition at Twinwoods Adventure end of next week.

However, it was not a withdrawal from the actual event. In fact, the French FLY-IN Girls switched to the much more contested AAA/Open Class competition where they will be facing more than enough tough opposition.

World champion team mates in Prostejov 2014: Perrine Sanchez - Christine Malnis - Laurence Herve - Sophia Pecout
The AAA/Open Class registration of the reigning world champions in 4-way Women makes even more sense for another good reason. The French FLY-IN Girls have the potential to place within the Top 4 rankings, which offers the World Challenge cash prizes.

In fact, the French team proved at the Clash of Champions 2015 that they could even finish in 2nd place in Bedford. This would be the highest Open Class placing of an all-female lineup in the history of the sport.

NMP PCH Hayabusa is too big an obstacle, and the toughest opposition for the next places could come from another reigning French world champion in 4-way Women. Perrine Sanchez, Sophia Pecout's and Christine Malnis' team mate in 2014, competes for Weembi in Bedford. She has French national coach Mathieu Bernier, Julien Degen and Thomas Perrin in her lineup. The World Challenge power rankings are showing all contenders for the top spots.
