The Golden Knights were in a league of their own, as they keep waiting for a serious challenger in this event, which could only come from France. However, there was an extremely exciting 1-point battle for the 2nd place, which connected Golden Knights and the potentially opposing French 8-way team indirectly.
Team White was guided by Frenchmen Martial Ferre and Damien Sorlin, who have been visiting Paraclete XP for several years with 8-way lineups from France. Team White was an international lineup with experienced competitors from Germany (Petra Stumpp, Henning Stumpp, Uwe Soppa), Belgium (Paul Hofstee), Sweden (Seth Erickson) and France (Nicolas David).

Damien Sorlin is now back in the French national 8-way lineup, which is supposed to challenge the Golden Knights at the Mondial 2016 at Skydive Chicago in September. He was not in the active lineup of 2012 and 2014 when the Golden Knights won the gold medals. National coach Mathieu Bernier, who is also competing in the new French 8-way lineup, asked Damien Sorlin to come back when his brother Guillaume Bernier did not commit to the 2016 project.
Damien Sorlin had once again the opportunity to take a good look at the Golden Knights after their last 8-way showdown at the Clash of Champions 2015, while he was player coaching the international Team White lineup.
Team White controlled the battle with the Qatar Falcons throughout the first four rounds and was up by eight points before Qatar coach Gary Smith ordered his team to pick up the pace.
Team White's Martial Ferre and Paul Hofstee then switched back to 4-way after the Paraclete meet and competed again in Bedford at the World Challenge 2016, where they split to join their own 4-way teams, Paul Hofstee with Thunder ISR and Martial Ferre with Tenanine. The Falcons got a break, and the Tigers competed for Qatar at the Shamrock Showdown and the World Challenge.
