Did You Know...

... that Aerokart Ak'demie has once again extended the successful junior team project?

Pro Team Extended at the World Challenge 2016
posted Apr 23rd, 2016 - The leaderboards of the World Challenge 2016 were not only a colorful combination of different gender lineups, as it was the case earlier at the Clash of Champions 2015, which did not have a separate leaderboard in 4-way Women, as well.

Even the AAA Class leaderboard in Bedford included an all-female lineup with the French FLY-IN Girls, despite the additional leaderboard for only 4-way Women.

There were no separate gender-limited leaderboards in the other three categories (AA - A - Rookie), where all flyers of all genders and ages also competed together.

The A Class winner, Pro Team Extended, had probably the most interesting combination, as the lineup included wife and husband Outi and Kimmo Pohjola, plus their teenager son Kalle Pohjola.

AA and A Class both had this unique combination of all-female, all-male, mixed-gender and junior lineups sharing the fun of ten competition rounds with each other.

Aerokart Ak'demie A Class team with coach Mathieu Cannesson
In fact, even the junior lineups had their own different combinations. The French Aerokart Ak'demie AAA Class lineup consisted of two young ladies (Astryd Casimir, Camille Paillard) and two young men (Kylian Forsans, Nicolas Mary). The AA Class lineup consisted of four male competitors, as well as the A Class team.

Yaroslav Alikine (12), Simon Capelle (10), Adrien Gallot (10) and Valentin Vazille (12) had direct junior competition in the A Class.

The all-female HF Junior Cubs lineup from the Czech Republic finished two ranks ahead of the French team after a great competition between the two junior teams.

The Sun Path Products NSL News introduced the French junior team project with the story on March 26th, 2014. French national coach Marin Ferre had provided the details of Aerokart's Ak'demie plans.

Czech competition in the A Class: HF Junior Cubs
The World Challenge 2015 was the goal for the 4-way junior project at that time. It has obviously changed, as three Aerokart Ak'demie teams competed again at the World Challenge 2016.

The results of the project must have been very convincing since there are once again new plans, with Clash of Champions 2016 and World Challenge 2017 as the new goals. Mathieu Cannesson, former member of the French national 8-way team, has been working with the Ak'demie A Class team. All three teams train one weekend each month and complete 80 minutes of flying time, broken up in two 20-minute sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

Only Yaroslav Alikine and Simon Capelle live in Paris. Adrien Gallot (Nice) and Valentin Vazille (Lyon) have to travel to get to the training camps. However, their parents are skydivers and support the project strongly. Frank Vazille is still one of the Monaco members after collecting several 8-way medals for France in the 80s/90s. He will probably soon have to fend off his son's team on the AAA Class leaderboard...
