Did You Know...

... that M4trix competes for the Netherlands at the Mondial 2016?

M8trix at the end of the FAI World Cup 2015
posted May 21st, 2016 - The Dutch 8-way team project M8trix was launched in 2011, and some of the members also competed in 4-way with M4trix. The main focus has been on 8-way training and competition, and M8trix represented the Netherlands at the last two World Championships of Formation Skydiving in Dubai 2012 (7th) and Prostejov 2014 (5th).

M8trix then placed 4th at the FAI World Cup 2015 with the team's highest meet average (13.9). The 4-way half of the 8-way team also competed in Teuge last year and was heavily involved in the same battle for the semi-final slots with the VAF Warriors and eX3mo.

The Dutch 8-way project is on a break now, and M4trix has the opportunity to pick up the pace in 4-way competition for a while. M8trix will not compete at the Mondial 2016, and M4trix represents the Netherlands for the first time at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving.

Erwin van den Braak with Dynamic Fource at the World Meet 2008
One personnel change was necessary, as original M4trix member Leander van Schriek moved to the U.S.A. after the end of the 2015 season. M8trix member Annelies Hasewinkel-Ibens filled the open slot.

Jaap Keuter told the Sun Path Products NSL News that the new 4-way lineup "quickly formulated a plan" to get ready for the Mondial 2016: "Slot re-assignments, a training plan (in- and outdoor) and taking on coach Erwin van den Braak completed the preparations."

Erwin van den Braak trained and competed with Dynamic Fource, who competed for the Netherlands at the world meets in Maubeuge 2008 (18.4 - 8th) and Menzelinsk 2010 (20.7 - 9th).

M4trix 2016 lineup
The new M4trix lineup started with eight indoor training sessions in Roosendaal earlier this year to get used to new slots and fine-tune the block techniques.

Jaap Keuter said that his team now begins with outdoor training: "We're ready to go jump on the beautiful Texel island drop zone. We have planned a number of long weekends and two weeks of training, aiming for approximately 250 training

jumps."

M4trix will add more tunnel time to the training schedule and also compete at the national championships before traveling to the U.S.A. for the Mondial 2016. The new lineup has not set specific performance goals so far, except for one: "Obviously we strive to out-perform M4trix of 2015..."
