Did You Know...

... that Czech 4-way teams placed on the top of last weekend's A Class leaderboard?

Flying Circus in 2014
posted Jul 8th, 2016 - It was not the first time this year that the A Class competition was the most popular one last weekend. This NSL category with the first eight blocks in the dive pool offers the first stepping stone for new 4-way teams on the way to learn and master the complete FAI/IPC dive pool.

Ten teams from three different countries (Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany) created a new international leaderboard, and several teams had competed earlier this year.

All ten rounds were completed in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands, while the German teams were done after five rounds at the Nord Cup due to bad weather. However, the rankings were identical after five and after ten rounds, and no changes were necessary on the overall leaderboard.

The Czech Republic had two teams on the A Class leaderboard, and they took two of the three top spots in the 10-team field.

Both teams, Flying Circus and Mimozemky, have been attending the 10-round indoor meets of the European Tunnel League (ETL) at the Hurricane Factory and the Indoor Cloud League events on a regular basis, and the competition practice seems to pay back well.

Flying Circus increased the meet average from 8.9 in May to 13.5 last weekend, which is the highest A Class outdoor average of the year so far. The Airwolves from Poland are currently chasing the Czech record number at Denmark's national championships.

Mimozemky in 2014
Flying Circus started with only Rookie Class indoor training and competition in the winter season of 2014/2015, and then attended one outdoor competition (7.0) in the same category in July 2015.

Next step were the A Class blocks that Flying Circus learned during the first months of the next winter season 2015/2016.

The Czech team competed two times in the A Class, including the Clash of Champions 2015, while adding the next eight blocks (AA) to the indoor training agenda. The first 10-round AA Class competition at the Hurricane Factory followed in December 2015.

This summer, Flying Circus stepped up into the A Class outdoor competition and now posted the top scores in this category last weekend.

Mimozemky last weekend
Mimozemky has been on a very similar road after launching the team in the winter season of 2014/2015, as well. The Rookie Class lineup of 2015 competed two times at outdoor meets in the summer and then took on the A Class dive pool with the beginning of the ETL/ICL winter season.

The consistent progression was showing on the leaderboards of the indoor meets, with a 16.7 team record average at the last meet in April.

Mimozemky then attended the first A Class outdoor competition in May this year (8.0) and followed up last weekend with the 9.2 average and the 3rd place on the weekend's international A Class leaderboard. The national championships will be next in mid-August.
