... that Czech team Impact and Dutch team Dimension went neck to neck at both team's first AA Class outdoor meet?

AA Class winner 4igami
posted Jul 12th, 2016 - The AAA Class and A Class teams on the July 2 weekend received their deserved attention after great participation and competition in both categories.

However, three teams from the Czech Republic and two teams from the Netherlands also created a very interesting leaderboard in the AA Class on the same weekend. In fact, the AA Class leaderboard was the most contended one of all four categories, as the highscores for each of the ten rounds were scattered from top to bottom.

The Dutch team 4igami won the AA Class competition at the Tomscat Trophy and finished on top of the weekend's combined leaderboard with the team's highest outdoor average since stepping up into the AA Class. The four other teams in the same category all battled for the 2nd place, which was eventually shared between Tijd voor iets Leuks (NL) and Accord (CZ).

Dutch team Dimension finished only three points behind the two teams in 2nd place, while Impact from the Czech Republic was farther behind due to a video failure in Round 2. Any average score for this round instead of the 0-pointer would have lifted Impact into contention for the 2nd place, as well.

Four of the five AA Class teams have a longer team history in common. Only Dutch team Tijd voor iets Leuks is a new name on the leaderboard. The winner, 4igami, started in the Dutch Rookie Class competition of 2007 and moved up into the A Class in 2011. 4igami has competed in the AA Class since November 2014.

Accord from the Czech Republic was the longest standing AA Class team on the July 2 weekend and has been competing since 2005. Accord went the other way and started in the AAA Class where the Czech team continued until 2013. The AA Class eventually became Accord's home category.

Only indoor meets: Impact in 2012/2013
Dimension started in the Dutch A Class of 2013 and tested the AA Class dive pool once at the ISR Grand Prix indoor competition in November 2014. The 10-round competition at the Tomscat Trophy 2016 was Dimension's first outdoor meet in the AA Class.

Impact went through the first three categories in the Czech Republic (RRR – A – AA). The first lineup attended only the six indoor meets of the European Tunnel League (ETL) at the Hurricane Factory between November 2012 and April 2013 with a perfect progression (11.1 - 11.4 - 13.8 - 15.6 - 17.7 - 19.0) and then attended one outdoor competition in July 2013.

Next step was the 2013/2014 indoor winter season in the A Class, followed by two outdoor meets in the same category. The 2014/2015 indoor season was dedicated to the AA Class dive pool, even though Impact skipped the outdoor meets in last year's summer and added another winter season in the AA Class. The July 2 meet eventually became Impact's first AA Class outdoor competition, as well. Dimension and Impact went neck to neck at both team's first AA Class outdoor meet throughout the ten rounds - except for Impact's mishap in Round 2...
