Did You Know...

... that iFLY SFBay and iFLY Orlando are currently tied in 1st place with 865 ICL points?

iFLY SFBay team last week
posted Aug 21st, 2016 - iFLY SFBay's Indoor Cloud League teams came back together last week, and nothing is the same any longer on the August leaderboard. Lori Connor's new lineups did not leave any of the previously posted six scores unimproved, and iFLY SFBay has taken the August lead by nine points over iFLY Orlando.

The same nine points would finally eliminate the difference between the two teams, as iFLY Orlando was exactly nine points ahead for the year (865 - 856) at the end of the July competition.

iFLY Orlando has the three highscores for AAA - AA - A while iFLY SF Bay outscored the Florida team in the three Rookie Class categories. iFLY Orlando's team had another Indoor Cloud League event last week, one day after the ICL night in Northern California. Scores and videos have not been added yet. Lori Connor posted her own meet report of last week's event:

Two Rookie Class highscores (RRR - RR)
Last week's Tunnel Kicker at iFLY SFBay marked the last opportunity for the NCSL teams to improve their scores on behalf of iFLY SFBay for submission to the National Skydiving League.

The teams definitely flew hard for iFLY SFBay and increased their overall scores on the leaderboard by 33 points! The scores are unofficial until the NSL judges them and updates the overall leaderboard. iFLY SFBay is currently in 2nd place on the year-to-date leaderboard for 12' tunnels participating in the Indoor Cloud League behind iFLY Orlando by 9 points.

Our new submissions from last week put us ahead of iFLY Orlando for August by 9 points! However, iFLY Orlando also had an additional Tunnel Kicker on August 18th and those scores have not been posted yet! We'll have to wait to see how we place after all scores are added to the leaderboard which is open until the end of the month!

R Class highscore for iFLY SF Bay
August marked the first month using the "new format" for the NCSL Tunnel Kickers where there are less teams at each kicker and the teams fly longer - but there are more Tunnel Kickers each month!! Additionally, each team flies two classes and the rotations are designed during the 1-hour practice to be building blocks so that the teams can really focus on learning the key randoms and/or blocks.

Hopefully the new format also produces higher scoring during the Indoor Cloud League competition at the end of the evening but regardless the flyers are increasing their skills in 4-way which is the reaffirmed goal of the NCSL. The feedback among flyers attending the Tunnel Kicker is that they really like the new format and that they feel the different transitional sequences throughout the practices help them focus their learning and are then better able to put it altogether during the ICL competition.

Congrats to the teams who had high scores and whose videos were submitted to the National Skydiving League. Check out the photo that lists the "Best of August" for iFLY SFBay that lists the high scores per team per class throughout August. Here is the link for the August 17th Tunnel Kicker video that shows the winning videos in each class in addition to the full coverage (all teams) of the Indoor Cloud League at the end of the evening.
