Did You Know...

... that Evolution will be the first team in history to compete in two 4-way events with the same lineup?

Evolution 4-way Open lineup at the Mondial 2012
posted Aug 31st, 2016 - Last but not least, the Sun Path Products NSL News turns to the third 4-way event at the Mondial 2016, the VFS competition.

This used to be an event without any overlapping participation, as it has happened many times between 4-way Open and 8-way competition. The Canadian Lemay brothers (Martin, Vincent, Benoit) changed this situation when they began to compete in 4-way VFS, as well, while representing Canada in 4-way Open at the same time.

The Mondial 2016 is the third World Championship of Formation Skydiving where the three Lemay brothers compete in two of the three 4-way events, and Jean-Christophe Ouimet will the 4th Evolution VFS member at his second world meet in front of the camera. He was filming the 4-way Open Class lineup with father Michel Lemay in Dubai 2012, and with Katie Woods in Prostejov 2014, where he also performed in front of the camera with the three brothers in 4-way VFS.

Evolution 4-way Open lineup in Prostejov 2014
The Mondial 2016 will see the final version of Evolution's 4-way double duty lineup. JC Ouimet has also trained with Evolution in 4-way Open, and the lineups for both 4-way events will be identical for the first time at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving.

Evolution finished with two bronze medals in Prostejov 2014, and the Lemay brothers have moved up the world meet leaderboards every single time so far. It started with a 9th place in 4-way Open in Germany 2006, followed by the 6th place in France 2008, 5th in Russia 2010, 4th in Dubai 2012 and finally the first set of bronze medals in Prostejov 2014.

Evolution's first 4-way VFS placing at a world meet was the 4th place in Dubai 2012, followed by the bronze medals in Prostejov 2014.

Identical lineup for 4-way Open and VFS at Mondial 2016
Defending the 4-way Open Class bronze medals successfully is probably the more challenging task this year, as JC Ouimet had to replace Katie Woods in a well-trained lineup that even challenged Arizona Airspeed for the silver medals in Prostejov 2014. The upcoming competition for the bronze medals in 4-way Open also seems to be very tight, with France, Russia and Qatar pushing strongly toward the top level.

The situation is probably much more promising in 4-way VFS where Evolution is coming back with the same lineup that won the bronze medals two years ago. France as the reigning VFS world champion has been facing a very difficult situation after Team4speed retired with three consecutive gold medals. The new French national team Transfert was still far behind Evolution's 2014 performance level last year and the Canadians may even have their eyes on this year's top favorite for the gold medals: SDC Core.

Evolution's progression toward the top of the leaderboard may continue in 4-way VFS, while there is a big question mark behind the chances for a 2nd place in 4-way Open...
