Did You Know...

... that Dallas 350 posted a new team record average last weekend?

Dallas Super Cup awards
posted Sep 22nd, 2016 - The aftermath of the Mondial 2016 still has to take turns with other events that happened while the national teams of 21 different countries in the four Formation Skydiving events competed at Skydive Chicago.

The September 17 weekend brought together U.S. teams at three different locations who competed in all four NSL categories. The Northern Plains Skydiving League (NPSL) and the Virginia Parachute Council (VPC) held their final meet of the 2016 season, while the Dallas Super Cup attracted 12 teams from Texas.

Dallas 350 competed for the first time with the new lineup and finished the 6-round meet with a new team record average. The 16.7 beats the previous 16.0 that Dallas 350 had posted at the USPA Nationals 2015.

This year's performance and scoring level may lift Dallas 350 very close to the unofficial top amateur rankings in the 4-way Open Class at the USPA Nationals 2016. Last year's Dallas 350 lineup with Jim Rees finished in 8th place, and HG XP had the highest "amateur average" with 18.1 in 5th place.

New Dallas 350 member Amanda Lampton might be challenged by last year's outside center Jim Rees. There are rumors that Mass Defiance may have a comeback with the original lineup, who would then become the top contender for the spot behind the full-time teams.

Carolina Turbo XP will not be back, as Doug Barron and Andrew Happick are the new SDC Rhythm XP members, and the new Golden Knights 4-way Women world champions have to give JaNette Lefkowitz back to her own team. The space behind Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP seems to be wide open.

Ready for the 10-average: Suffolk Sabotage
The AA Class leaderboard included teams from all three locations last weekend, and it turned out to be a very competitive 11-team field.

Suffolk Sabotage won the AA Class competition in Virginia, after attending all five VPC meets this year, and took the top of the AA Class leaderboard, as well. Sabotage has also participated on a regular basis at the monthly Indoor Cloud League events. Last weekend's 9.3 average is the team's new record number, and Sabotage seems to be ready to break the 10-average level at the USPA Nationals in October. Five AA Class teams claimed or tied highscores, which shows the competitive weekend in this category.

NPSL team 3-Ring Circus was alone in the A Class, and Mighty Morphin 4-way finished in the middle of four Rookie Class teams from Texas.
