Did You Know...

... that iFLY Houston Woodlands hosted the September meet of the IBA Indoor Competition Series?

Indoor Cloud League event at iFLY Dallas
posted Oct 11th, 2016 - The Indoor Cloud League events and any other indoor competitions have a lot in common. Many of the participants at indoor meets are also regulars at the ICL events, and the ICL activities are the breeding ground for future 4-way competitors.

The ICL competition allows the participants to train and perform the six sequences (AAA - AA - A - RRR - RR - R) for a whole month, while the indoor competitions are usually 10-round meets using up the whole IPC dive pool.

One of the most recent indoor events was the September meet of the IBA Indoor Competition Series at iFLY Houston Woodlands. The event was a great example for the overlapping activities of indoor 4-way competition, as many of the Indoor Cloud League teams and competitors in Texas posted scores at the IBA event, as well.

Dallas 350 at the IBA meet at iFLY Houston Woodlands
All four Dallas 350 members (Amanda Lampton, Lucas King, Scott Latinis, Scott Levy) are regular player coaches at the iFLY Dallas ICL events, and Scott Latinis often supports the ICL events at iFLY Houston, as well. This time, they won the 10-round IBA competition in the AAA Class and competed in several other disciplines, as well, while they were also helping the other 4-way teams.

The 20.8 average on September 9th was a new team record for the new lineup that even improved the previous 20.6 after a limited dive pool meet at SkyVenture New Hampshire in January this year, with Josh Hall in the lineup.

Dallas 350 then followed up a week later with a new outdoor record average (16.7) at the Dallas Super Cup 2016. Texas Crush, with several other ICL regulars at iFLY Dallas, finished in 2nd place with a new team record average, as well.

A Class awards: BOOBS in 3rd place
The Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies visited from the Southern Skydiving League area and took the 1st place in the A Class, ahead of all the teams from Texas.

Toxic Heveh was the closest local challenger of the winning team and claimed two of the ten highscores, while the Babes on our Bellies (BOOBS) could not keep up the top speed that the team had in the first two rounds. BOOBS are a team that participates regularly at iFLY Houston's ICL events and got together after meeting month by month at the indoor events. The all-female lineup also competed at the first outdoor competitions in Texas this year, starting with a 6.5 average at the Texas Shootout and following up with 9.2 at the Dallas Super Cup in September.

The September meet of the IBA Indoor Competition Series at iFLY Houston Woodlands also included several other flying disciplines, and the next meet is scheduled for December 8 - 9 at iFLY Seattle, another host of regular Indoor Cloud League events.
