Did You Know...

... that the 3rd Flyspot Polish Open 2016 was an overture for the upcoming 2nd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving?

No Mercy at the FAI Mondial 2016
posted Oct 12th, 2016 - The most recent indoor competition connected 4-way teams and competitors once again in many ways. Flyspot in Poland, with a 14-foot flying chamber, hosted its 3rd Flyspot Polish Open 2016 on the September 30 weekend.

This time, there were even connections between indoor and outdoor events. No Mercy is the Polish national team in 4-way Women and had competed just a few weeks ago at the FAI Mondial 2016, where they finished in 8th place with a 13.6 average.

Airwolves, winner in the A Class, had posted a score and video earlier this year on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard. Several of the teams had also competed at least year's indoor competition at Flyspot and have a scoring history in the SKYLEAGUE.COM database.

A Class to AAA Class: Flyspot Chicks
This year's Flyspot Open was also like an overture for the upcoming 2nd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving, which begins tomorrow at the same location. The AAA Class teams will then be separated again on two leaderboards, in 4-way Open and 4-way Women, and the 4-way Junior teams will have their own leaderboard, as well.

No Mercy and Flyspot Chicks are both all-female teams and finished in 2nd and 4th place at the 3rd Flyspot Polish Open. Both teams are also registered for the 2nd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving in their home chamber, where they will compete in 4-way Women. Flyspot Chicks had started in the A Class competition of the 2014 event, moved up into the AA Class last year and now competes at the world cup in the AAA Class.

The family lineup of the Olczyk Flyspot Team actually includes two 4-way juniors, Dominika and Zaneta Olczyk. However, Poland has not registered a team in the 4-way Junior category, and the two Olczyk sisters will not compete at the world cup.

30.4 average: Olczyk Flyspot Team
The Olczyk Flyspot Team had competed for the first time at the 2nd Flyspot Polish Open 2015, where they ended up in last place of the Rookie Class competition. A year later, the Olczyk family was back in 1st place with a 30.4 average.

The outstanding result two weeks ago was not really a big surprise, after the Olczyks posted a 30.2 average at a 6-round competition in June. Only Pro Team Extended from Finland (39.1) and Czech team HF Chicks (33.0) have ever posted higher averages in the Rookie Class.

Poland has one more team registered for the upcoming indoor world cup. Sky4four finished in 3rd place at the 3rd Flyspot Polish Open 2016 and will now face off with some of the best 4-way teams in the world.
