Did You Know...

... that Florida teams had a busy indoor and outdoor week?

DeLand Kickers at iFLY Orlando
posted Oct 17th, 2016 - 4-way teams and competitors in Florida have a busy week behind them. It began with the first Indoor Cloud League event in October at iFLY Orlando last Thursday. The first FSL Tunnel Kicker had to be canceled due to hurricane Matthew, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported on October 10th.

The second ICL event of the month at iFLY Orlando was the first challenge of the new six sequences for the 12+ flying chambers, and the five lineups combined for a total of 121 points.

There was internal competition between the lineups for the best scores in the AA and A Class. DeLand Kickers members combined in different ICL lineups and different slots for the highscores in three categories (AAA - AA - A) before they would travel to Skydive City on Saturday to compete again at the outdoor event.

DeLand Kickers at Skydive City
James Hall left the DeLand Kickers for the October meet of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive City, where Cathy Luo, Sebastian Jimenez, Brad Weinberg and Kurt Gaebel competed for the AA Class team, with Alex Goodman on camera.

In fact, the five DeLand Kickers members were opponents this time, as James Hall was filling an open slot for Skydive City's home team ZeuS, who were missing their new tail, player coach Robert Chromy. He was not available since Simba competed at the same event, and he has been Simba's player coach in the outside center slot, as well.

The DeLand Kickers had the upper hand throughout the first three rounds, which were slow due to inconsistent weather conditions. ZeuS continued on home turf until sunset and managed to complete all six meet rounds despite the earlier weather situation.

James Hall with ZeuS
ZeuS used the last FSL meet of the 2016 season as the final test for the USPA Nationals 2016, which will begin with Round 1 in 4-way on Monday at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. Two more teams from Skydive City will compete in the AA/Intermediate Class in Eloy: Z-Hills PreciZion and SCZ FurtheranZe XP.

The DeLand Kickers are planning to compete at the national championships in 2017, together with the next ZeuS generation, ZeuS Evolve. Simba is also planning to step up into the AA Class next year and get ready for a trip to the national championships. DeLand will be represented by Momentum's new 2016 lineup in Eloy next week.

All Florida teams also still have the NSL Championship 2016 on their agenda, which is scheduled for the December 17 weekend.
