Did You Know...

... that Canadian 4-way junior indoor gold medalist Yannick Bisson is ready for top outdoor competition?

Aerokart Ak'demie team at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2014
posted Oct 18th, 2016 - The FAI Indoor World Cup 2016 included for the first time a separate competition and leaderboard in the 4-way Junior category.

Junior 4-way competitors have been participating at indoor meets for many years, and the Sun Path Products NSL News has been giving them special attention from the very beginning. FAI/IPC launched their own indoor project with the first world cup in Austin 2014. 4-way teams attended in three categories (4-way Open - 4-way Women - 4-way VFS) and two junior teams from France (Aerokart Ak'demie 1 and 2) competed with four other teams in the Open Class, while two more teams had their own leaderboard in 4-way Women.

Two different junior teams from the Czech Republic (HF Junior Cubs and Flies) then attended the first FAI/IPC indoor world meet in 2015 at the Hurricane Factory, where they still performed the AAA Class sequences. However, they had their own separate FAI/IPC leaderboard in a "demo event".

FAI/IPC then changed the rules and categories for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016, where the 4-way Junior teams eventually had their own dive pool and rules (AA Class) and their own leaderboard.

France sent the three Aerokart Ak'demie teams to Poland earlier this month, and the Czech Cubs and Flies were back, as well.

However, the strongest junior delegation came from Canada, as the Air Devils (gold) and Tunnel Vision (bronze) won two sets of FAI/IPC medals at Flyspot.

The VossVind Girls from Norway completed the junior field of teams.

It was a good battle for the gold medals between Air Devils and the strongest Aerokart Ak'demie team, which ended with a 4-point difference after eight rounds, and the same difference separated Tunnel Vision and Ak'demie 2 for the bronze medals.

Yannick Bisson with 4Astrophe in 2013
Both Canadian teams were neither new to the Sun Path Products NSL News audience after their competition career had started with participation at Indoor Cloud League events.

The first Air Devils lineup posted a 6.0 average in the A Class competition of the Canadian Indoor Championship 2015. A year and a half later, the current Air Devils lineup won the FAI/IPC gold medals with a 20.4 average in the AA Class.

One of the team members joined the Air Devils earlier this year and surely helped to increase the performance level.

The Sun Path Products NSL News had introduced Yannick Bisson for the first time on April 17th, 2013, after his family team 4Astrophe had won the Canadian Indoor Nationals with a 21.0 average in the A Class. He was 12 years young by then.

The Sun Path Products NSL News followed up on April 4th, 2014, just before Yannick Bisson competed with 4Astrophe at the World Challenge.

Yannick Bisson with Air Devils at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016
It was the same year when his sister Valerie Bisson was selected to join Parachute Montreal Fuzion, the Canadian national team in 4-way Women, who competed for Canada at the world meet in Prostejov 2014 where she turned 18 during the competition.

Yannick Bisson is now 16 years old and could be ready soon to follow his sister's example. With permission of his father Richard Bisson and DZ operator Michel Lemay, himself father of the three Lemay brothers Martin, Vincent, Benoit, 4-way bronze medalists of 2014 (4-way Open) and 2016 (4-way VFS), Yannick Bisson started his skydiving career this year, as well.

The new NSL-TV video clip features his AFF jumps and more footage of 4-way training, freeflying and other skills training. His AFF jumps were a little bit more advanced than the traditional freefall education. Get ready to be impressed...
