Did You Know...

... that the Hurricane Factory won the Indoor Cloud League for the third consecutive year?

AAA Class challengers: HF Chicks with Bad Boys coach Vaclav Prokes
posted Jan 3rd, 2017 - The Czech 4-way teams did not have to win the December competition of the Indoor Cloud League to finish on top of the 14+ leaderboard for the year. The Hurricane Factory team was far ahead of the other teams on the same leaderboard and probably more focused on their internal battles.

The situation in the AAA Class competition has tightened up month by month, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported earlier. The Bad Boys, Czech national champions in 4-way Open, have been facing serious competition in this category, and the December scores confirm the charge by the HF Chicks.

December was the first month that Bad Boys and HF Chicks tied both scores for the two sequences that could be drawn in any 4-way Open Class or 4-way Women competition. HF Flying Circus, with Bad Boy Jan Klapka's son Jakub in the lineup, was only one point behind for the AAA Class sequence in December.

Back in ICL December action: Bad Boys
December was the third consecutive month that the HF Chicks, back together with an all-female lineup, claimed the Czech AAA Class highscore, even though the Bad Boys missed the November competition.

The December leaderboard for the 14+ flying chambers is not complete yet; however, the Hurricane Factory has won the Indoor Cloud League 2016 competition without a doubt, and it is the third consecutive year that the Czech 4-way teams and competitors have outscored the rest of the Indoor Cloud League world.

At the end of the year, the participating teams have the opportunity to review their performances in the respective categories, and the Sun Path Products NSL News took a closer look at the currently four AAA Class teams in the Czech Republic. The completion of the 12 monthly sequences allows a quite realistic evaluation of a team's performance level.

The AAA and AA sequences are both drawn from the FAI Open Class dive pool. The AAA Class sequence of the Indoor Cloud League is always the longest one with six formations and includes one of the six slot switching blocks (3, 5, 10, 12, 16, 17). This way, the teams on the top level of 4-way competition have the opportunity to become familiar with the most challenging sequences.

The second Open Class sequence (AA) could also be drawn for an Intermediate Class competition, such as the one at the USPA Nationals. The monthly AA Class sequence of the Indoor Cloud League is always a 5-pointer without any slot switchers and includes two of the other 16 blocks.

The Bad Boys missed only one of the 12 AAA Class sequences and stand with a 21.5 average after the eleven slot switchers. The Czech national 4-way team has exactly the same average for the 11 AA Class sequences of the 2016 season, while the other three Czech Open Class teams have scored significantly higher with the easier sequences. The Czech indoor winter season continues with the ETL 10-round Sportflight meet next week.
