Did You Know...

... that 4mula and Vision 99 join forces to challenge Satori XL?

posted Jan 12th, 2017 - The Sun Path Products NSL News story on 4 June 2016 explained how well British 4-way team 4mula started into the 2016 season. The coverage of the UK Nationals 2016 brought the scores and a few updates to the audience, while it did not highlight the fact that 4mula finished the 2016 season just as well as the fast start had promised.

The new team record average of 18.5 in the AAA/Open Class was rewarded with the 2nd place behind Satori XL and defended the 2nd place once again against the Vision 99 challengers in 3rd place.

4mula was done for the 2016 season after the UK Nationals, while the two female team members, Kate Lindsley and Sian Stokes, moved on to win more silver medals at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016 in 4-way Women with Volition. They plan to focus even more on their all-female 4-way lineup this year, and 4mula continues with a new lineup.

4mula lineup of 2016
Dave Rodgers and player coach Joey Jones have now joined forces with former Vision 99 members Ady King and Pete Mather, who were ahead of 4mula in 2014 and then the team's toughest challengers in 2015 and 2016. Joey Jones provided a brief overview of the plans for the new lineup: "This turbo 4mula lineup will continue to train at Skydive Langar but also add a few camps in Europe in the winter to boost the training schedule."

Vision 99 competed for Great Britain in 4-way Open at the FAI World Meet in Prostejov 2014 and just missed the finals by three points after Round 9.

Ady King and Pete Mather continued with Vision 99 for two more years before making plans with 4mula for the 2017 season. The combination of the teams in 2nd and 3rd place in the United Kingdom is now trying to get to the top spot, which is still held by Satori XL.

4mula lineup of 2017
Joey Jones said that his new lineup is very excited about the merger of the two teams: "I feel with our training plan we can make a serious run for the gold in 2017. The team is looking at completing between 350 - 400 jumps and close to 20 hours of tunnel time. I am personally very excited after our first tunnel training session and, based on the previous year's winner, I feel that the top spot on the podium is a reachable and attainable goal."

His 4mula team mate Dave Rodgers is ready for the final move to the AAA Class top spot, as well, after visiting all four categories since 2010: "The team has evolved like any good team in most sports, but the aims, ambitions and goals of the team always remain the same. I am really looking forward to this coming season because I believe we have a lineup that can do great things as long as we keep to our plan, and remain focused on ourselves and our own performances. We are looking at a number of ways to squeeze in improvements, which will make for a very interesting British Nationals in 2017."
