Volition started as a team for a meet at the World Challenge 2016 and won the 4-way Women competition by two points (23.2 - 23.0) over Canada's national team Parachute Montreal Fuzion and far ahead of the British national team NFTO. The French Girls had signed up for the 4-way Open Class competition and finished there in 2nd place with a 28.6 average.
The World Challenge 2016 served as the qualification event for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016, and Volition competed at Flyspot as the British national team in 4-way Women, while NFTO traveled to Ottawa to represent Great Britain at the FAI Mondial 2016.

The results at Flyspot in October and the team performance must have been encouraging and motivating for Volition, as the team began to make plans for the 2017 season. Team member Kate Lindsley, former 4mula member, told the Sun Path Products NSL News that her team is now increasing the training efforts significantly with the same lineup.
Volition has hired NMP PCH HayaBusa member Andy Grauwels as the coach, and the team will also work with Dennis Praet for additional 2-on-2 training: "We are very excited to start training in two weeks and see what we can achieve over the next few years."

Great Britain dominated the 4-way Women competition a decade ago, with FAI world meet gold medals in 2003, 2006 and 2008. Claire Scott was in all three gold medal lineups, and Volition team mate Liz Matthews won her gold medal together with Claire Scott in 2003 .
So far, the competition has to worry only about the indoor situation. However, Volition has not completely ruled out competing at the UK Nationals in the future. The current plans for the 2017 season include only the World Challenge, which is once again the qualification event for this year's FAI Indoor World Meet in Canada, and Volition is planning to travel across the Atlantic in October this year...
