Did You Know...

... that the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2017 begins tomorrow morning?

SDC Rhythm XP at the Paraclete Indoor 2016
posted Feb 24th, 2017 - The aftermath of the Wind Games 2017 and the previews of the French Indoor Nationals 2017 and the World Challenge 2017 have taken much of the recent Sun Path Products NSL News attention, and there is more to come.

The power rankings for the World Challenge were just updated, and the French Indoor Nationals will be next, as a total of 34 teams are currently registered for the 4-way events, and six teams will compete in 8-way at Weembi Lille.

However, one of the longest standing indoor meets is coming up this weekend, the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2017, which was the first indoor event that included an 8-way competition. Several 8-way teams are once again registered for this year's event, including the annual visitors from France, organized by Martial Ferre and Damien Sorlin.

Arizona Airspeed at the Paraclete XP Indoor 2015
The main attention of the Formation Skydiving community will still be targeted at the first U.S. showdown between Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP. Airspeed's new lineup will post the first scores since the severe makeover after the USPA Nationals 2016.

SDC Rhythm XP has trained and competed throughout the whole 2016 season with the same lineup, and both teams meet each other for the first event of the new 2017 race. The final showdown will take place at the USPA Nationals 2017, where the winner qualifies for the FAI World Meet 2018 in Australia.

Airspeed plans to become the U.S. national team in indoor and outdoor 4-way competition, while SDC Rhythm XP does not even try to win the indoor qualification at iFLY Virginia Beach in April.

Spaceland Lite/Savolo combination
The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship this weekend will offer the first impressions of how close the two main opponents are to each other at the beginning of the 2017 season. Airspeed is taking the indoor competition in Raeford very serious, as the team has spent the whole week at Paraclete to get ready for the competition. The U.S. champions missed the Paraclete competition last year and make up for it this week.

The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship has very casual rules for participation, and the field of teams includes very colorful lineups with many double duties. One of the interesting combinations is a 2-2 mixture between South Africa's national team Savolo (Alex Jordaan, Andre van Heerden) and Spaceland Lite members Katrina Shows and Dave Grabowski. All team members compete with other lineups in 4-way Intermediate (AA) or 8-way, as well.

The competition draw will be published at 7 AM, and Round 1 is scheduled for 8 AM tomorrow morning.
