Did You Know...

... that two 4-way rookies have to move up in Northern California?

Moving up: Kristen Breaux and Justin Breaux with their R Class lineup
posted Feb 28th, 2017 - Much fun was had by all when 10 teams came out to iFLY Sacramento for the Northern California Skydiving League's February Tunnel Kicker. Five of the teams flew two rounds of the R Class sequence during the practice flights from 8 PM to 9 PM for an internal competition in the R Class to secure the highscore for Sacramento on the ICL February leaderboard.

Scott Rainey and Keith Clayton, with player coaches Matt Stephens and Jason Russell, scored 22 points, which was not enough to beat last month's reigning Sacramento R Class champions Kristen Breaux and Justin Breaux.

Kristen and Justin, along with player coaches Matt Stephens and Lori Connor, flew 25 points in the same category. Kristen and Justin had already scored 33 points last month in the R Class, so they are both not eligible any longer and have to move up.

Enjoying the ICL events: NCSL player coaches
The same five teams who flew two R Class sequences during practice were also competing for February's top spot in the RR Class. Justin and Kristen Breaux once again took the 1st place for iFLY Sacramento with 30 points. Player coaches were Matt Stephens and Nick Armstrong this time.

The internal race for the 2nd place went to Scott Rainey and Keith Clayton, with player coaches Matt Stephens and Jason Russell. Karen Woolem and Arturo Espinosa placed 3rd with player coaches Jason Russell and Steven Walker.

There was no internal competition in the RRR Class for team mates Monty Stephens, Russ Hebert, John Verley and player coach Matt Stephens who scored 14 points. Russ Hebert flew both the RRR and A Class sequences with this team for the first time. Even though the team continued their training effort throughout the evening, their A Class score of 11 points was not enough to beat the 15 points flown by Lisa Larkin, Ron Ashcraft, Jim Dawson and Nick Armstrong.

NCSL Tunnel Kickers at iFLY Sacramento in February
League Director Lori Connor returned to competition at February's NCSL Tunnel Kicker after a 3-month absence to recover from a surgery last November. She along with regular coaches Matt Stephens, Jason Russell and Steven Walker enjoy flying together and had a few training sessions in February to find their pace as an ICL team at iFLY Sacramento.

The lineup of coaches submitted the 17-pointer in AA and the 19-pointer in AAA. All of the coaches look forward to the Tunnel Kickers not only to fly the more technical sequences together but also for the opportunity to coach and fly with the other teams and see the real gains in both skills and confidence realized by the participants.

The new sequences for March will be posted tomorrow, while missing scores from other Indoor Cloud League teams will be added in the coming days.
