Did You Know...

... that iFLY SF Bay is two points ahead of iFLY Sacramento after two ICL 2017 months?

Coaches at iFLY SF Bay
posted Mar 9th, 2017 - iFLY SF Bay's Indoor Cloud League team spent February building their scores across three NCSL Tunnel Kicker events. Team organizer and NCSL Co-Director Maria Garcia-Sheets explained how her ICL team came to the final total of 107 points, which brought the 2nd place behind iFLY Sacramento last month:

"Faced with challenges, such as moving up in categories and flying aspirational sequences, fliers used focus, persistence, and humor to make their way through February's dive flows."

She also explained how important the player and assistant coaches are at the Tunnel Kicker events: "Participants at each Kicker worked with coaches to understand how randoms and blocks are flown, as well as develop insight into the importance of appropriate engineering and walking of dive flows. NCSL coaches at SF Bay are critical to the Kicker events. Without their insight, experience, patience, and advice, fliers would take far longer to learn, and execute, the skills necessary to fly 4-way well."

Deanne and Julius Frank at Paraclete
Two of the NCSL coaches did not only fly at each of the three events at iFLY SF Bay last month. Deanna and Julius Frank also traveled to the east coast in February to compete at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2017.

The Paraclete event was scheduled after the iFLY SF Bay team had completed all three February events.

The first ICL team on February 1st did not keep any of the scores in the six ICL categories. The second event a week later generated the major contribution to the final February total of 107 points, as three of the five lineups posted five of the six iFLY SF Bay highscores.

In fact, the AAA Class lineup (Christina Deglau, Mike Deglau, Deanna and Julius Frank) also posted a 20-pointer on February 8th, which was tied by Rob Radez, Leander van Schriek, Deanna and Julius Frank a week later.

The two different AAA/AA lineups tied their scores in both categories, and each of them ended up on the ICL 12+ leaderboard once.

The 20-pointer in the AAA Class is the February highscore on the 12+ leaderboard, as well. SkyVenture Montreal's 4Astrophe lineup last month (Richard Bisson, Yannick Bisson, Guillaume Boileau, Nathalie Metivier) posted the other 20-pointer in the 4-way Open Class category.

Player coach Mike Deglau, who posted the 20-pointer in the AAA Class, had Jessica Lee Laura Reed and Ethan DeLano in the RRR Class lineup who claimed the other ICL 12+ highscore for iFLY SF Bay in February.

iFLY Sacramento dominated the Rookie Class categories of the Californian indoor duel this time and outscored iFLY SF Bay by 13 points in February. iFLY SF Bay is still two points ahead of iFLY Sacramento (261 - 259) after the first two months of the ICL 2017 season. iFLY Orlando is four points ahead of SkyVenture Montreal for the 3rd place on the 12+ leaderboard.
