Did You Know...

... that the Flybox in Israel has joined the Indoor Cloud League?

Weembi aftermath coming soon
posted Mar 27th, 2017 - The dominating indoor coverage of the Sun Path Products NSL News during the winter season was interrupted only briefly by the Shamrock Showdown 2017. The French Indoor Nationals 2017 will soon be followed by the World Challenge 2017 before the teams turn back to outdoor training and competition. The aftermath of the French Indoor Nationals at Weembi will begin soon with the InTime judging videos.

The Indoor Cloud League continues throughout the whole year and has no off-season, as the wind tunnel groups and teams have a whole month to train and perform the six sequences.

The end of the month is usually the time when scores and videos arrive at the NSL headquarters with a few exceptions. iFLY Tampa posted the first scores and videos early in March on the 14+ leaderboard.

The next set of data for three categories has come from Israel where Baat Enosh has launched a new ICL team project with the first participation this month.

Baat Enosh used to live and skydive in California before she moved back to Israel, and she was inspired by Northern California Skydiving League director Lori Connor who has guided the NCSL and both ICL teams at iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento to great success:

"The reason to create the league was after seeing how it built the RW community in NorCal - it's a great way to revive and build this community. Lori Connor from NorCal was an inspiration in showing how to build this league, and instrumental in sharing all her knowledge to make it easier in Israel."

Israel's Flybox 14-foot flying chamber opened in December 2016. Testimonies and photos show it is one of the nicest wind tunnels around with a high-end facility, restaurant and a great viewing deck.

The opening of the tunnel revived a community of skydivers who had limited resources for skydiving and "came out of the woodwork to the tunnel".

High-end facilities at the Flybox
Dynamic flying and freeflying has been dominating even Israel's indoor activities, and Baat Enosh, Alan Lo, and team 4GetIt are excited to bring in the 4-way activities that they all know from around the world and from being player coaches with Lori Connor in Northern California.

The top Israel 4-way team, 4GetIt, was ready to get busy in the tunnel, so joining forces with them made sense, and together they built the infrastructure of the league and are operating it on a monthly basis. During the first session, even the tunnel rats were surprised to see 4-way in the tunnel, but not for longer.. The league meets regularly, and people started training in RW to improve their skills.

The first couple of months were focused on building basic 4-way skills, and after three months the ICL team was now able to submit the first three videos. They hope to follow up with a complete set of six sequences in the coming months.

Baat expects the ICL group will grow beyond its group of 15 to 20 participants soon: "People are joining as they hear how much fun it is and after seeing 4-way in the tunnel.. we hope to bring additional coaching from other countries to help us build the league.”
