Did You Know...

... that JETMAX competes with a new lineup at the World Challenge 2017?

JETMAX at the Wind Games 2017
posted Apr 1st, 2017 - The just completed French Indoor Nationals 2017 and the World Challenge 2017 have a lot of teams in common. There is even a connection of a team that does not attend both events.

Belgian's JETMAX 4-way team will be a part of the Belgian delegation in Bedford after competing at the Wind Games 2017 and then missing the Weembi meet last weekend.

The connection comes with the team's coach. Former Les Stunts member Maya Van Campenhout, who competed for Belgium in 4-way Women at the FAI Mondial 2016, has been working with JETMAX, and she was at the French Indoor Nationals, with ISR FireFlash in 4-way and the Fly-In Machine 44 in 8-way.

JETMAX and coach Maya Van Campenhout will now travel and compete together at the World Challenge next weekend.

JETMAX at the ESL Championship 2016
There is even more that connects JETMAX with Les Stunts and coach Maya Van Campenhout. Her former team mate Julie Regnier was also looking for a new slot when Les Stunts did not continue after the Mondial.

JETMAX needed a new inside center when Steve Canas did not come back for the 2017 season, and Julie Regnier was glad to take the JETMAX opportunity. Ludovic Basset switched from outside to inside center to offer her the familiar slot.

Maya Van Campenhout had filled the inside center slot for JETMAX at the Wind Games before Julie Regnier joined the team.

The Wind Games were the first competition for the Belgians in the AAA Class, and JETMAX started with an 18.0 average in the new category. The World Challenge will be the first AAA Class competition with the new and complete lineup.

JETMAX at the World Challenge 2015
JETMAX started in the Rookie Class of 2013, and the 2016 lineup had its first competition at the World Challenge 2015. The Belgian team moved up into the A Class the same year and then continued in the AA Class throughout the 2016 season.

The 2015/2016 lineup had a total of 700 jumps together, including the videographer, when the outdoor training began. Team member Ludovic Basset said that they all looked up to Belgium's great role model teams, NMP PCH HayaBusa, Thunder ISR and Les Stunts.

Belgium's 4-way delegation in Bedford includes NMP PCH HayaBusa, ISR FireFlash and JETMAX in the AAA Class. Two more Belgian teams (Aeropotams, ACT One) have signed up for the Rookie Class competition at the World Challenge, Which was the JETMAX starting point, as well.

Ludovic Basset said that his team has also finally found the much needed support to help climbing "the steep AAA hill": "Local DZ Skydive Spa is now our official DZ and partner in crime, after we have been nomads until now. With Intrudair and Akando on our sides we are ready to rumble. We will participate at the FAI World Cup in Germany this summer and of course at the ESL Championship 2017 where we hope to see as many teams as possible from as many countries as possible."
