... that Blue Steel and DeLand Kickers finished tied after ten WTL rounds at iFLY Tampa?

World Tunnel League competitors at iFLY Tampa
posted Apr 22nd, 2017 - The U.S. teams from Florida did not have the same travel agenda as the Czech and Slovakian teams, who competed again in Prague three days after the completion of the World Challenge 2017 in Bedford.

The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 15 April 2017 that five teams were back in action at the Hurricane Factory for the April meet of the World Tunnel League.

The U.S. part of the meet took place at iFLY Tampa in Florida, and a total of five teams added their names to the combined leaderboard with the 13 teams in the Czech Republic. The story explained that the U.S. teams could not keep up with the well trained Czech teams who took the first four places in the meet rankings.

However, two of the three AAA Class teams at iFLY Tampa had an exciting 10-round battle that ended in a tie, and Zeus 3.2 also managed to tie two of the Florida highscores in the 10-round meet.

Blue Steel had attended the first WTL meet in March, as well, and came back for the April meet with the same lineup.

The DeLand Kickers missed the March meet and then visited iFLY Tampa for the team's first 10-round competition in the AAA Class.

A different lineup (Leslie Eggenberger, Sebastian Jimenez, Cathy Luo, Brad Weinberg) had attended the NSL Indoor Championship in the AA Class at iFLY Orlando in December.

Leslie Eggenberger and Sebastian Jimenez were back with the DeLand Kickers for the April meet at iFLY Tampa, where Sebastian Jimenez also competed once again with Blue Steel.

James Hall and Kurt Gaebel completed the AAA Class lineup of the DeLand Kickers, which has posted several Indoor Cloud League scores for iFLY Orlando in the past.

First A Class blocks: Emily Bombardi
Zeus 3.2 had only Amer Kassas back in the lineup after the March meet, where he competed for the first time in the AAA Class. This time, he had Doug Barron, Erica Gorski and James Hall in the lineup who also competed with their other teams at the same time.

As the five Czech and Slovakian teams, SDC Rhythm XP member Doug Barron had competed with his team at the World Challenge, as well, and he was back to work at nearby Skydive City where he was organizing and coaching for the weekend.

In fact, he and Amer Kassas came to iFLY Tampa straight from the drop zone on Thursday, where they had jumped from planes during the day. Doug Barron and Amer Kassas both also teamed up with Emily Bombardi and Bill Bickner for an additional A Class lineup, where Emily Bombardi could perform her first block maneuvers in the point slot.
