posted Jun 19th, 2017 - The scores of the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2017 are still on the front page, and the Sun Path Products NSL News follows up with the meet videos of the fourth team that competed in the AAA/Open Class on the June 10 weekend.

Ranch 2nd Generation (R2G) actually finished in 3rd place behind the two best 4-way teams in the United States, Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP, and ahead of Phoenix XP. In fact, R2G also outscored one of the best British 4-way teams, 4mula, in Round 1.

The Sun Path Products NSL News introduced R2G on 14 March 2016 and has followed the young team's impressive progression ever since.

The latest performance at the outdoor competition in Raeford was another step in the same direction, which has been upward with scoring averages meet by meet. The 16.5 average is significantly ahead of the 15.0 average that R2G posted at the USPA Nationals 2016 to claim the silver medals in the Advanced Class competition.

16.9 average at the USPA Nationals 2016: SDMW NEXT
The first R2G update of the year on 8 January 2017 came after the annual indoor competition at SkyVenture New Hampshire, which had provided more scoring evidence of the promising team career.

R2G's 16.5 average is so close to the record number of 16.9 for USPA's Advanced Class winner that SDC Rhythm XP (2008) and SDMW NEXT (2016) could be outscored this year in Perris. They have owned the Advanced Class record average together.

SDMW NEXT is not eligible for USPA's Advanced Class medals any longer and will compete in the AAA/Open Class.

Ranch 2nd Generation would be eligible to compete again in the same category and turn silver into gold this year with a new record average.

Ranch 2nd Generation in action
Coach Niklas Hemlin has been helping R2G as much as he can since the beginning of the 2016 season. He said that last year was slow with outdoor training, and R2G completed only approx. 80 training jumps. However, a busy indoor training schedule compensated to a certain extent.

R2G scheduled more outdoor training for the 2017 season, with three of taking place them in Eloy.

Niklas Hemlin said that outdoor training is more challenging for the young team than for other more experienced lineups. The lower outdoor jump numbers are limiting the team when the weather conditions are not perfect. Outdoor training has been more successful than last year, and the results are obvious.

The training is also very efficient with the help of Niklas Hemlin. However, he contributes most of the R2G success to the team's dynamics: "It's a well-functioning team. They are very coachable, talented and driven, they listen and apply."
