Did You Know...

... that the tie-breaking rules could not break the internal AAA tie at Paraclete?

Paraclete XP's second AAA Class lineup
posted Jul 8th, 2017 - The June competition of the Indoor Cloud League is over, and both leaderboards are closed. Paraclete XP's ICL team won the AAA Class competition with Fast4ward XP's 23-pointer on the 14+ leaderboard, while iFLY SF Bay's AAA Class lineup (Deanna Frank, Julius Frank, Leander van Schriek, Volker Haag) posted the highest score for the sequence on the 12+ leaderboard.

The Paraclete team had actually a second AAA Class lineup that tied the 23-pointer. Phoenix XP members Morgan Womble and Lauren Byrd once again teamed up with two Golden Knights (Matt Accord, Drew Star) and took on the slot switching sequence in June.

Both teams completed the 23rd scoring point at exactly the same time (33.95) on the NSL stop watch. Fast4ward XP, with player coach and host Kirk Verner in the lineup, had their 23-pointer first on the 14+ leaderboard and will stay there, as not even the current IPC rules for a tie-breaker determined an internal winner at Paraclete.

The same AAA Class lineup, with reigning 8-way world champion Drew Starr, had no internal Paraclete competition for the AA Class sequence and claimed the second sole June highscore for their ICL team. Jessica Haugaard, Alix Raymond, Jill Stephenson and Christy Hite tied the 27-pointer that the HF Junior Cubs had scored at the Hurricane Factory.

Happy ICL night after all: Deb Correia with the iFLY Seattle team
Deb Correia's ICL team of Northwest Skydiving League teams and competitors at iFLY Seattle did not win any of the 14+ sequences last month. However, the total of 124 points defended the 2nd place on the 2017 leaderboard successfully, where the Paraclete team is gaining momentum month by month.

Deb Correia held one event at iFLY Seattle in June with three different lineups for four of the six sequences, as Seattle Swift took care once again of the AAA and AA scores.

It was a very interesting story how the Seattle team managed to get all missing scores onto the 14+ June leaderboard. Deb Correia had to deal with a knee injury and asked Seattle Swift member Dmitry Rudchenko to fill in for her, even though she was still hoping to attend.

She decided in the last minute to bring her equipment when she found out that another Swift member, Djordje Mandaric, had to cancel at the same time.

It was not the end of the troubling last-minute messages. Steve Platt would at least be late, and Olga Nikolova could not be at iFLY Seattle timely, as well. However, all fell into place eventually, and Deb Correia said that her team had a great tunnel night.

AFF on June 24th: Erin Hundtofte
She said that Erik Byng returned for his second ICL event and was joined by first-timer Erin Hundtofte for a Rookie Class lineup. Coaches Dave Correia and Steve Platt guided them through the three Rookie Class sequences, where they produced the highscore for the R Class. Erin Hundtofte is a brand-new skydiver after making her first AFF jump on June 24th at Skydive Kapowsin.

Olga Nikolova teamed up with Gary Dutton after her time-pressured arrival and posted the highscore for the RR sequence, together with coaches Denis Pershakov and Deb Correia, who was able to fly despite her knee troubles.

The June competition was the last one for Sarah Mireles Jacobs at iFLY Seattle, as she is moving to Birmingham, Alabama, in early July. Her lineup posted two scores for iFLY Seattle, and Deb Correia said that she will be greatly missed.

Last and not least at all, Seattle Swift (with Andrew Gaiovyi, Djordje Mandaric, Denis Pershakov, Dmitry Rudchenko) continue with their training for the USPA Nationals and keep turning in the highscores for the AAA and AA sequences, while the team members help Deb Correia as player coaches at the ICL events.
