Did You Know...

... that Yannick Bisson attended his first outdoor competition with 16 years of age?

First 4'Astrophe lineup in 2013
posted Jul 24th, 2017 - The story of Yannick Bisson began for the Sun Path Products NSL News on 17 April 2013.

The Canadian 4-way junior was 11 years of age when he competed in 4-way for the first time at the Canadian Indoor Championship the same year. The first story in April 2013 explained how his father Richard Bisson trained his two kids, Valerie and Yannick, in the SkyVenture Montreal wind tunnel to get them ready for their first 4-way team, 4'Astrophe. The Sun Path Products NSL News has followed the progression of the Bisson siblings ever since on a regular basis.

Four years later, 16-year old Yannick Bisson now attended his first outdoor competition at the Canadian Nationals 2017. His father Richard is still with him in the current 4'Astrophe lineup, while daughter and sister Valerie is a member of the Canadian national team in 4-way Women, Parachute Montreal Fuzion. Michel Lemay and Nicolas Malley were his other two team mates at the first outdoor meet, and Sean Paquette was filming the team.

Yannick Bisson continued with 4-way training, and 4'Astrophe submitted many scores and videos for the Indoor Cloud League leaderboards since 2013, together with Richard Bisson's second team, Slim Jim.

He also became a member of the Canadian Air Devils 4-way team who trained for the newly introduced FAI/IPC category, the 4-way Junior event. The Air Devils moved on to win the FAI gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016 and are getting ready to defend their title at the indoor world meet this October on home turf at SkyVenture Montreal.

Next step for Yannick Bisson was AFF freefall training, and the Sun Path Products NSL News reported his successful entry into the outdoor skydiving world on 18 October 2016.

It was no surprise to find him in the 4'Astrophe lineup eight months later at the Canadian Nationals 2017 after watching the videos of his AFF training. The new video of the ten rounds with 4'Astrophe at NouvelAir is demonstrating his advanced 4-way skills in the ten rounds of AAA Class competition.

Yannick Bisson is now going back to indoor training with the Air Devils for the 4-way junior event at the world meet where he will most likely be the only participant who is also jumping from planes.

The youngest Canadian outdoor competitor finished in 3rd place with 4'Astrophe, right behind his sister, Valerie Bisson, with Parachute Montreal Fuzion. Father Richard Bisson also competed with Slim Jim. Yannick Bisson knows some of the Slim Jim members from his Indoor Cloud League activities, and he was packing parachutes for his father's second team at the national championships.

Michel Lemay was inside center for 4'Astrophe, while his three sons Martin, Vincent and Benoit won the Canadian 4-way Open and VFS titles. Nicolas Malley completed the 4'Astrophe lineup in the tail slot. He has also been a team member at several Indoor Cloud League events in the past, and he competed in Canopy Piloting at NouvelAir.

Fathers Michel Lemay and Richard Bisson were opponents in the AA/Advanced Class competition where Michel Lemay entertained the three girlfriends of his sons with Michel et ses Brus.

The three Lemay brothers have never separated since they started 4-way training and competition and ended up with FAI world meet medals for Canada after they left father Michel behind. The Bisson family is split into three different teams (Slim Jim - Fuzion - Air Devils) and come back together with 4'Astrophe once in a while. The Canadian family stories will surely be continued by the Sun Path Products NSL News...
