Did You Know...

... that the Czech Republic sends a complete delegation to SkyVenture Montreal?

HF Bad Boys at the Czech Outdoor Nationals 2017
posted Oct 2nd, 2017 - The Indoor Cloud League events still continued while several national outdoor championships took place last month, including the USPA Nationals 2017 that kept the U.S. audience busy last week.

The Czech teams had their own outdoor championship event at the beginning of the September, with three teams on the leaderboard who would also post scores later on the 14+ leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League.

HF Bad Boys won their next national 4-way title and switched quickly to indoor training, as the Czech national 4-way team in 4-way Open will represent the country at the upcoming FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 in Montreal, Canada.

HF Flying Circus will not travel to Canada this month; however, the young Czech team had the ESL Championship 2017 on the agenda just a few weeks after the national outdoor championships.

Flying Circus was well prepared for the international competition in Saarlouis and finished with a new 13.3 team record average. The Bad Boys had won the Czech Nationals 2017 with a 13.0 average, and it seems like Flying Circus has now caught up with the national team. The 2018 season might finally feature an interesting battle for the AAA Class top spot in the Czech Republic between father Jan Klapka's Bad Boys and son Jakub Klapka's Flying Circus.

Accord, together with Bad Boys one of the longest standing 4-way teams in Europe, was the third Czech team that competed at the national outdoor championships and also posted scores on the Czech 14+ leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League in September. The team's 17-pointer for the A Class sequence did not make it to the ICL leaderboard for September, where the HF Junior Cubs posted the highscore for the Hurricane Factory.

On the other side, the HF Junior Cubs could not compete at the outdoor championships due to their junior ages. However, they are ready for the trip to Canada where they will represent the Czech Republic in the 4-way Junior event. The Cubs finished in 5th place at last year's FAI Indoor World Cup with a 16.3 average.

This year's Cubs lineup was already up to an 18.5 average at the Czech Indoor Nationals 2017 in April, and the scores for the challenging monthly Indoor Cloud League sequences indicate that the Cubs may go even higher in Montreal.

The youngest HF Junior Chameleons have been taking care of the current Rookie Class scores for the Hurricane Factory. They are also learning and training the first A Class blocks while posting scoring numbers for the three Rookie Class categories (RRR - RR - R) of the Indoor Cloud League.

The Mirek Team was still eligible for one more 25+ score for the RRR sequence, and they left this category with the 27-pointer in September. They are familiar with the A and AA Class blocks and will now be competing with several other Czech 4-way teams for positions on the monthly ICL 14+ leaderboard.

HF Chicks at the Czech Indoor Nationals 2017
Last and not least, the HF Chicks were in Indoor Cloud League action in September, as well. They outscored HF Flying Circus (41 - 38) and finished four points behind Bad Boys (45-41). Even though the all-female team could not beat the Bad Boys on the ICL leaderboard and at this year's indoor nationals (214 - 203) they will probably catch more attention in Montreal than the Bad Boys.

The HF Chicks had finished in 4th place at the Wind Games 2017 with a 20.9 average, not far behind the bronze medal position. They travel soon with the Czech indoor delegation to Canada, as well, and they could be once again within striking distance.

Jan Klapka proudly told the NSL News that the Czech Republic sends a complete indoor world meet delegation to SkyVenture Montreal:

"We attend all categories in all disciplines: Bad Boys in 4-way Open, Chicks in 4-way Women, Cubs in 4-way Junior, Mad Ravens in 4-way Dynamic." Czech competitors are also registered for all artistic events.
