Did You Know...

... that many Indoor Cloud League competitors competed at the USPA Nationals?

Seattle Swift at the USPA Nationals 2017
posted Oct 4th, 2017 - The Indoor Cloud League leaderboard for the month of September is complete, and nothing has changed in the rankings for the 2017 season.

In fact, the ranking order for September is exactly the same as it is for the whole year. The Hurricane Factory defended the top position successfully for another month, after Paraclete XP had posted the highest totals for two consecutive months in July and August.

iFLY Seattle also managed to defend the 2nd place on the 14+ leaderboard against the Paraclete challenges of the previous months. It is still only a small 8-point margin (1028 - 1020) that separates both ICL teams, and everything is possible in the remaining three months of the year.

Several ICL teams and competitors were also in outdoor action at the USPA Nationals 2017 after posting Indoor Cloud League scores for September. Seattle Swift helped to protect the 2nd place on the 14+ leaderboard before competing for Advanced Class medals in Perris. Swift ended up in 4th place of the eligible U.S. teams, one single point behind the bronze medal position that the Four Horsemen took, with Paraclete XP's John D'Annunzio in the lineup.

Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League September team
Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League team included 4-way Open Class bronze medalist and 8-way champion Jen Davidson. She joined forces with her 8-way team mate Drew Starr to collect ICL points for the two Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) in September for Paraclete XP.

Drew Starr was in a different lineup at the USPA Nationals. He competed with Dan BC, Brian Krause and Jeshua Stahler and finished two ranks behind the bronze medals with GKBC. Golden Knights Jen Davidson and Drew Starr also had Morgan Womble in their AAA/AA lineup at Paraclete XP. She posted the highest all-female average with Phoenix XP and will compete with the U.S. delegation at the FAI World Meet 2018 in Australia. CoNEXTion XP member Fritz Carr complete the AAA/AA lineup.

Morgan Womble's Phoenix XP team mate Amanda Lampton was player coaching the iFLY Dallas Indoor Cloud League team to the six scoring numbers on the September leaderboard.

Paraclete XP's pickup team for the AAA/AA Class posted the highscore for the AAA sequence (23) while the Czech Bad Boys won the AA Class competition with the 24-pointer. Advanced Class team Seattle Swift could not keep up with the Czech national 4-way team and the Paraclete Open Class 4-way experts.

The Dallas 350 lineup in Perris, who impressed with the team's new 18.1 record average, had Scott Levy in the 2017 lineup. He usually helps Amanda Lampton with player coaching at the Indoor Cloud League events at iFLY Dallas. He took a break in September to get ready for the USPA Nationals, while his former 350 team mate Lucas King guided two lineups to the ICL September scores.

USPA 10-way gold with Arizona Airspeed: Scott Latinis and Rodney Cruce
Lucas King also competed at the USPA Nationals. He was the player coach for Dallas Interspeediate who finished in 5th place of 37 teams in the AA/Intermediate Class, nine points behind the bronze medals. Another former Dallas 350 member, Scott Latinis, has been helping and coaching at Indoor Cloud League events in Dallas and Houston in the past. He had informed the NSL News of his team plans for the USPA Nationals:

"After uncounted hours of reviewing videos and conducting exhaustive and intensive interviews of the 37 video flyers that made the cut from the original group of 143 applicants, super team Long Shot has selected their video flyer for Nationals. Skydive Perris regular Curt Frye will be hovering over the team as it plummets toward high-speed dirt during this year's USPA National Championships of Formation Skydiving. Upon being informed of the team's decision, Mr. Frye - ever the quiet man of few words - replied 'Who is this?' Once realizing the magnitude of being selected to document Long Shot's quest toward the holy grail of 4-way FS skydiving in 'Murica, Mr. Frye underwhelmingly stated 'Thanks'. Upon hearing the confidential financial agreement reached by Mr. Frye with the team, former Arizona Airspeed video flyer Justin Price tweeted 'Is Latinis still skydiving? Someone needs to retire that old fart...'

Long Shot finished in 13th place with a 14.2 average on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard. Scott Latinis and Rodney Cruce continued to win USPA gold medals with Arizona Airspeed in 10-way.
