posted Nov 3rd, 2017 - The Indoor Cloud League October competition pitched once again the two teams in Northern California against each other, and iFLY Sacramento won easily this time. The iFLY SF Bay team has won two of the ten monthly duels this year before iFLY Sacramento took the top spot in April and then defended it successfully month by month.

There is a friendly rivalry between the two NCSL Indoor Cloud League teams, with overlapping participation, even though the two wind tunnels are at least two hours of driving distance away from each other.

The situation is very similar to Florida, where Indoor Cloud League teams compete in Orlando and Tampa, and the driving distance is almost identical. The Florida Skydiving League teams and competitors have access to two different flying chamber sizes though, while both wind tunnels in Northern California have 12-foot flying chambers.

The Florida teams and competitors can perform the 14+ sequences in Tampa and the 12+ sequences in Orlando, while the participants in Northern California compete directly against each other in the same flying chambers and with the same six sequences.

NCSL Director Lori Connor and three other NCSL competitors (Jessica Lee, Ethan DeLano, Pete Swan) attended the October events at both locations. Lori Connor competed with her team DeLoreans at iFLY Sacramento and won the internal California competition in the AAA Class against herself and another DeLorean team mate (Volker Haag) at iFLY SF Bay.

Lukasz Weber, Sylvain Florand, Mahlon Chute and Vignesh Elamvazhuthi posted the highest A Class score in Northern California at iFLY SF Bay.

Laura Reed, Pete Swan, Ray Hebert and Patrick Cockwell also won the RRR Class competition for the iFLY SF Bay team. The four other highscores (AAA - AA - RR - R) were claimed by lineups at iFLY Sacramento.

Lori Connor and Pete Swan both performed two of the Rookie Class sequences together at both locations and events.

Nick Maxwell and Tom Berg were in their iFLY Sacramento lineup and won this internal Rookie Class duel against Lee Wilcox and Jim Daughters at iFLY SF Bay.

Jessica Lee and Ethan DeLano, both USPA Intermediate Class 2017 silver medalists with the Cali4nia Raptors, performed the A Class sequence during the World Tunnel League October meet at iFLY Sacramento with Lori Connor and Kristen Breaux in the lineup.

Then they posted the 13-pointer for the AA Class sequence with Lauren Pruett and Will Harris at iFLY SF Bay.

Lori Connor now has a special treat for her participants at the upcoming NCSL Tunnel Kicker and Indoor Cloud League competition at iFLY SF Bay.

The NSL News mentioned on 2 June 2016 that Leander van Schriek, former member of the Dutch national 4-way and 8-way teams, had moved to Northern California. He has provided his knowledge and experiences on a regular basis for the ICL events at iFLY SF Bay ever since.

His former Dutch 4-way and 8-way team mate Rogier Carper is currently visiting Leander van Schriek in Northern California, and both will participate in the upcoming NCSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY SF Bay, as Lori Connor announced:

"What's better than flying and being coached by Leander van Schriek, our 'on loan to us' national champion from the Netherlands? Well, how about having TWO M8trix national champions join us! Leander's former M8trix team mate Rogier Carper and his wife Patricia are on holiday and are going to attend next week's Tunnel Kicker at iFLY SF Bay! This is such a special event and one you will not want to miss!!"
