Did You Know...

... that iFLY Seattle's Indoor Cloud League November team included two new 4-way competitors?

Djordje Mandaric with his AAA Class lineup
posted Nov 26th, 2017 - The October update of the Indoor Cloud League from iFLY Seattle included a review of the AA/Advanced Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2017, where Seattle Swift ended up one point short of the bronze medal position.

Seattle Swift members Djordje Mandaric and Dmitry Rudchenko then still posted scores as player coaches with Indoor Cloud League lineups in October and were now back again at iFly Seattle for the November sequences.

Djordje Mandaric guided the AAA/AA lineup (Randy Barbee, Jerome Jeal, Jeramy Eggum) to the scores for the two Open Class sequences, and he helped Randy Barbee to take on his first AAA Class sequence with this month's slot switcher. Dmitry Rudchenko introduced two new Indoor Cloud League participants to 4-way training and competition, together with ICL organizer and player coach Deb Correia.

Gabriela Espiñeira Fuenzalida and Pedro Pablo Fuentes Schuster attended their first Indoor Cloud League event and posted the 15-pointer for the R Class sequence after the previous preparations for the first 4-way performances.

Deb Correia said that the training sessions before taking on the R Class sequence included 1-on-1 drills. She said that Gabriela Espiñeira Fuenzalida and Pedro Pablo Fuentes Schuster were not only new to indoor 4-way. They also used jump suits with booties for the first time at the training sessions.

Deb Correia and Dmitry Rudchenko also had the unusual pleasure of flying without heave weight belts that they need for most of their other lineups.

The progression from the beginning of the training sessions to the 15-pointer on the leaderboard was very promising for the near future.

Dave Correia's lineup (Dan Gillette, Erin Hundtofte, with assistant player coach Steve Platt) took care of the other two Rookie Class sequences.

Deb Correia is expecting Dan Gillette and Erin Hundtofte to leave the Rookie Class behind soon, as they are "enthusiastic to learn and grow". Dan Gillette recently added more 1-on-1 training with Dave Correia and plans additional 4-way training with iFLY Seattle's ICL competitor Olga Nikolova.

The slower sequences for November left the iFLY Seattle team with a total of 90 points, and Deb Correia is now hoping for a strong finish of the year in December.
