Did You Know...

... that the Dutch reunion at iFLY SF Bay produced the AAA Class 12+ highscore for November?

Team mates with NRG in 2006
posted Dec 10th, 2017 - The NSL News mentioned on 3 November 2017 that the next Indoor Cloud League event of the Northern California Skydiving League at iFL SF Bay would feature a reunion of two former Dutch team mates, Leander van Schriek and Rogier Carper.

Leander van Schriek has been an asset for the Indoor Cloud League and World Tunnel League events in Northern California for a while, after his work situation moved him to the area for a few years. Rogier Carper used his own winter vacation for a visit on the U.S. west coast and joined the ICL team at iFLY SF Bay for the November competition.

Leander van Schriek and Rogier Carper were NRG team mates in the Netherlands between 2006 and 2013. The NSL News update on 9 October 2013 had provided an overview of their long common team history in 4-way.

Leander van Schriek continued after NRG, with M4trix in 4-way and M8trix in 8-way. The Dutch 8-way team finished in 5th place at the FAI World Meet in Prostejov 2014. Rogier Carper then joined M8trix in 2015 and competed with the team at the FAI World Cup 2015 on Dutch home turf in Teuge, where they finished with the highest team average (13.9) in 4th place.

Rogier Carper was also back in 4-way when he filled a slot for guest team Pangaea from Denmark at the Dutch Nationals 2016. Pangaea finished in 1st place ahead of M4trix.

Team mates in 8-way at the FAI World Cup 2015
Leander van Schriek had already moved to Northern California at that time, where his name appeared on several Indoor Cloud League leaderboards.

The November event at iFLY SF Bay brought the Dutch 4-way and 8-way team mates back together in the AAA Class lineup where they posted the 18-pointer as the highscore on the 12+ leaderboard. Deanna and Julius Frank completed the lineup.

Both Dutch competitors were also helping as player coaches in other lineups, where they did not compete against each other for the iFLY SF Bay highscores.

AAA Class ICL team mates Leander van Schriek and Deanna Frank performed the AA Class sequence with Ron Ashcraft and Ray Hebert.

Lori Connor, Christina Deglau, Volker Haag and Mike Deglau posted the highscore in this category. Rogier Carper guided his second lineup (Ron Put, Elan Moyal, Patrick Cockwell) to the 17-pointer for the RRR Class sequence.

Team mates in November AAA for iFLY SF Bay
The iFLY SF Bay team won the internal Northern California Skydiving League duel with the iFLY Sacramento team this time. The Sacramento team had outscored iFLY SF Bay each month since April, after two SF Bay wins in January and March.

The 29-point advantage for the month of November reduced the distance between iFLY Sacramento and iFLY SF Bay to 78 points (1300 - 1222). Chances are little that iFLY SF Bay could eliminate the deficit in December, but nothing is impossible.

Rogier Carper will be back in the Netherlands and work on the 2018 plans for the Dutch delegation at the FAI World Meet in Australia.

M4trix finished in 15th place for the Netherlands at the FAI Mondial 2016, and there was no Dutch 8-way team at Skydive Chicago.

Leander van Schriek and Rogier Carper could join forces again and continue with their reunions, next time again in 8-way and in Australia...
