Did You Know...

... that five Indoor Cloud League teams collected more than 1000 points in 2017?

Florida Skydiving League ICL team in December
posted Jan 5th, 2018 - The 14+ leaderboard for the December competition of the Indoor Cloud League is complete. The Florida Skydiving League team was the last one to submit scores and videos from iFLY Tampa, and the five lineups together collected 123 points for the second highest total last month.

Each of the five lineups contributed to the December total, and Florida's Rookie Class lineups were the biggest point-getter this time.

The RRR Class team had support from a guest who visited from the Midwest Skydiving League. Zac Armstrong competed at two MWSL meets this year with Rampage. He joined the team for the July meet in the A Class after Rampage had started in the Rookie Class with SDC Rhythm XP's player coach Steve Lefkowitz in the lineup.

He had the inside center slot in July and switched to tail in September. Now he was back in the driver's seat for the RRR Class lineup that posted the highscore on the 14+ leaderboard in December. It was the only highscore that Florida's team claimed last month. A RRR Class lineup from Florida posted a highscore in this category last time in January 2017.

Two Florida lineups battled for the highest scores in AAA and AA on December 28, and they ended up tied after the total for the two Open Class sequences.

Three members of the USPA Intermediate Class champions of 2016, Z-Hills PreciZion, had their almost complete reunion. Erica Gorski and Rebecca Maureen had their player coach Sally Craig-Hathaway in the ICL lineup. Amer Kassas ended up in the tail slot, as Rebecca Maureen owns the inside center position.

Erica Gorski, Rebecca Maureen and Amer Kassas have all stepped up into the AAA Class and use the Indoor Cloud League events to get familiar with the complete dive pool and the longer sequences. They won the internal Florida battle with the 14-pointer for the AA Class sequence.

The opposing lineup had new AAA Class competitor Emily Bombardi in the lineup, while Amer Kassas had the opportunity to go back to his insider center slot. Bob Byrne was his piece partner in the rear piece. This lineup won the AAA Class duel.

The December competition concluded the 2017 season of the Indoor Cloud League, at least on the 14+ leaderboard. More December scores and videos will still be added to the 12+ leaderboard.

The NSL News predicted on 12 December 2017 that the 2017 season will generate a new scoring record. The iFLY Dallas team eventually crossed the 1000+ total for the year with the additional 92 points in December and has joined the 1000+ club.

Three ICL teams passed this benchmark in 2016, while five of the seven currently listed 14+ teams collected more than 1000 points in 2017. The Flybox in Israel will probably join the club in 2018 after missing three months in 2017, and SkyVenture Montreal only has to re-activate the ICL team to get to the magic number after passing it easily in 2015.

Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP have shared all the monthly highscores in 2017, and the 2018 battle for the top spot will be a very exciting one...
