Did You Know...

... that iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento have joined the Indoor Cloud League 1000+ club?

World Tunnel League December meet at iFLY SF Bay
posted Jan 10th, 2018 - The Indoor Cloud League 2017 leaderboard for the 12+ flying chambers is complete after the latest submissions of December scores and videos from Northern California.

The iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento teams battled once again for the regional top spot, and the Florida Skydiving League team at iFLY Orlando finished right between the two west coast teams.

Lori Connor offered two opportunities at each location for the NCSL indoor teams and competitors, and the groups were completely separate this time, with no participants switching sides in either direction.

The iFLY SF Bay team posted some of the December scores in Round 1 of the World Tunnel League meet, where Round 1 is identical with the monthly Indoor Cloud League sequences. Cali4nia Raptors and 2Pairs posted iFLY SF Bay's scores in AAA and AA. There was also a tie in the A Class between an Indoor Cloud League lineup and a team at the WTL meet. Lori Connor used the offifical tie-breaking rules, where the fastest completion of the last point in working time wins. The Indoor Cloud League lineup completed the 11th point in 30.8 seconds and ended up on the leaderboard for iFLY SF Bay, a second ahead of the WTL team.

AA Class ICL score at WTL meet: 2Pairs
The iFLY Sacramento team had Jeff Sealy in the Rookie Class lineup. He had to travel 300 miles one way to attend his second ICL competition.

Matt Stephens was the player coach in Jeff Sealy's lineup, who had just returned back to action after a shoulder surgery that had kept him away from the wind tunnel in November and December.

His comeback was only in the Rookie Class so far. He will be returning to the physically more challenging AAA and AA sequences and full coaching in January. The Rookie Class lineup with Jeff Sealy posted the highest RR and R scores on both leaderboards, where the Rookie Class sequences are identical.

Maria Sheets celebrated her last day before an upcoming surgery on the first December date and took on the AAA Class sequence for the occasion.

The slot-switching Block 3 (Side Flake Opal - Turf) was new to three of the four team members. Fortunately, Matt Stephens was at the location at the same time and could help with coaching and technical advice.

Back in action on 12+ leaderboard: iFLY Orlando
The December scores did not change the rankings on the 12+ leaderboard for the 2017 season. iFLY Sacramento had the lead going into the last month and defended it successfully with the last highscore total of the year.

The iFLY Sacramento team won nine of the twelve months for a 114-point lead in 2017 over iFLY SF Bay.

The combined scores of the Florida Skydiving League teams in Orlando and Tampa would add up to a competitive total for the year. The Indoor Cloud League events are back to Orlando for the 12+ sequences, while the Tampa team now focuses only on the 14+ sequences. iFLY Orlando can easily join the 1000+ teams on the 12+ leaderboard this year.

The 2017 totals for iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento bring the number of Indoor Cloud League teams beyond the 1000+ benchmark to seven, which is a new Indoor Cloud League scoring record.

It will become slightly more challenging this year to match the previous totals, as there is a new scoring limitation of 25 points for two of the three Rookie Class sequences (R - RR) beginning in January 2018.
