posted Jan 25th, 2018 - Another indoor competition took place in France while U.S. teams posted scores at the SV Hew Hampshire Indoor 2018.

The French skydiving federation has extended the traditional Coupe de France outdoor competition series and added an indoor event that took place in Lyons last weekend. The French Indoor Nationals have already been a part of the new indoor world in France, and the French Indoor Nationals 2018 are coming up soon again at Weembi.

The reigning 4-way Junior world champions of the Aerokart Ak'demie 2 team came back this year with the same lineup that won the gold medals for France in Montreal. The competition in Lyons offered a AA Class draw, which is the one for the official 4-way Junior event. However, Tom Mattoni, Cameron Malie, Eliot and Oscar Massier used the opportunity to step up into the AAA Class world.

They had two experienced AAA Class opponents in this category and outscored both of them. The draw for the ten rounds is currently unknown and will be added later.

The AAA Class 4-way juniors of the Ak'demie delegation were facing one of the former project members in the Monaco lineup.

Kylian Forsans was in the Ak'demie 1 team and had missed the trip to the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 with his team after the dramatic 2-point battle at the French Indoor Nationals 2017.

The Ak'demie 1 team has not competed again since March 2017, and Kylian Forsans eventually joined the Monaco team as a full member. He competed with Monaco for the first time in the AAA Class at the ISR Grand Prix 2017.

The five Aerokart Ak'demie members then met each other again in Lyons and posted scores on the AAA Class leaderboard. The 4-way juniors won, and Monaco ended up in 2nd place.

The Ak'demie 2 juniors did not only leave the former Ak'demie 1 member behind. Junior Tom Mattoni also outscored his father Stéphane Mattoni for the first time fair and square on the same leaderboard. Stéphane Mattoni is competing for the Monaco team.

Espoir Weembi Maubeuge, the second French national B-Team, finished in 3rd place after a top performance with a 24.1 average at Weembinamic 2017 in December. The team did not have the complete lineup available, and Jérémy Bignami, team videographer at the July meet last year, filled the open slot.

The NSL News had just recently brought the third Ak'demie team back to the attention of the audience, after an impressive performance at the Weembinamic 2017.

Yaroslav Alikine, Simon Capelle, Adrien Gallot and Valentin Vazille had no serious competition on the AA Class leaderboard in Lyons, and the same lineup has now started its third year.

Monaco's Franck Vazille is not yet competing directly with his son Valentin Vazille on the same leaderboard.

However, his fate will probably be the same one day as his Monaco team mate Stéphane Mattoni's. Franck Vazille and Stéphane Mattoni both don't mind, they are proud 4-way fathers...
