posted Jan 29th, 2018 - NMP PCH HayaBusa's start into the 2018 competition season this weekend was reason enough for the NSL News to ask for an update from Belgium before the Wind Games indoor meet.

The lineup was complete in Empuriabrava on Monday, and a training hour was scheduled for the late evening. All team members still took the time before the training session to provide some feedback live on NSL-TV.

HayaBusa's winter break was not very long this time, as the team's last meet of the 2017 season took place in December, the Flight Fighters in Bahrain. Each year, the meet schedule becomes tighter for the teams, as the indoor competition world has been adding a lot of events to the calendar.

However, the Belgian 4-way world champions still have the outdoor world championship title on top of the priority list, and they have completed approx. 70 training jumps at this point in time. The busy indoor agenda in the coming months will be over after the World Challenge 2018, and HayaBusa will give outdoor training full attention beginning in April.

The other top teams in the world are in a similar situation, which levels the conditions for all of them. The power rankings of the Top 10 teams at the upcoming Wind Games are showing all the expected top challengers for the Belgians at the same event.

All three French national teams (RealFly-Sion, French Weembi Girls, Aerokart Ak'demie 2) will compete in Empuriabrava, followed by the French Indoor Nationals and World Challenge. Even Arizona Airspeed has the trip to Bedford back on the meet agenda after a 5-year break.

RealFly-Sion, French Weembi Girls and Airspeed are also squeezing in the Shamrock Showdown outdoor competition before the indoor season is over.

HayaBusa is still missing last year's indoor top challenger at the Wind Games. The Weembi High Rollers have not announced any plans for the 2018 season, and they are not yet on the lists of any indoor meets this year.

NMP PCH HayaBusa will still have more than enough work to fend off the two top challengers from France and the United States, who are both planning to win the outdoor gold medals this year in Australia.

The leaderboard of the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 is showing six of the same teams who will compete this weekend at the Wind Games. The French national outdoor 4-way team, RealFly-Sion, replaces the Weembi High Rollers and will try to put the same pressure on HayaBusa.

Black Cat will not be in Spain; however, IFS-Moscow was very closely behind the Russian indoor and outdoor champions in December and is familiar with a 30+ pace. The Qatar Tigers is the only Top 5 team of the FAI Indoor World Meet in Montreal that is not registered for the Wind Games.

The first major indoor competition this year will define the starting point for all other world meet medal contenders this year...
