Did You Know...

... that Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP are tied on the ICL 14+ January leaderboard?

HF Chicks and Bad Boys at the Wind Games 2015
posted Feb 4th, 2018 - It does not happen very often that there is a major indoor event without any teams from the Czech Republic.

The leaderboard of the Wind Games 2018 did not show any Czech teams, after a visit of HF Chicks and Bad Boys in Empuriabrava in 2015 and the HF Chicks again in 2017.

This does not mean that the Czech teams did not recently compete. They had their Word Tunnel League meet with 13 teams, and 12 teams performed the January sequences of the Indoor Cloud League, as the NSL News reported on 31 January 2018. The next WTL meet is coming up at the Hurricane Factory this week.

The NSL News had featured the Indoor Cloud League duel between Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP for the top spot on the 14+ leaderboard several times last year and expected an even more exciting battle throughout the 2018 season.

The Hurricane Factory was first in January to post the January numbers, and Paraclete XP followed up this weekend. The start into the 2018 season could not be any more exciting, as the first 14+ leaderboard of the new year is showing.

ParacleteXP's Indoor Cloud League January team
It was the first time in the young Indoor Cloud League history that two teams finished tied with the same total for a month. Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP both finished with a total of 129 points, and each had one point deduction.

Both teams also incurred the new capping rule for two of the three Rookie Class categories (RR - R), which limits the highest score to 25 points.

The Flying Rebels 4-way juniors completed 26 points within the 35-second working time, and Paraclete's R Class lineup went even further to 30 points.

In fact, the R Class team of iFLY Dallas also finished higher with 32 points, and all three teams ended up with 25 points in this category for their ICL total on the January leaderboard.

The RR Class competition was even tighter without the need of the capping rule. The scores of all four currently posted RR Class scores show only a 2-point difference.

Paraclete XP won the RR Class and the A Class by a total of nine points, and Elements won it all back for the Hurricane Factory with the 25-pointer for the RRR Class sequence.

On the road to Australia: Morgan Womble with Phoenix XP
HF Flying Circus had posted the scores for the two Open Class sequences (AAA - AA) at the Hurricane Factory, and Paraclete XP came up with another strong lineup for the same two sequences.

Paraclete organizer Jessica Haugaard reported that Morgan Womble, Jen Davidson, Drew Starr and Matt Accord competed for her January team.

Morgan Womble trains and competes with the U.S. team Phoenix XP for the FAI World Meet 2018 in Australia. That's the same final destination this year for Jen Davidson and Drew Starr who are both Golden Knights 8-way members and will most likely win their next gold medals downunder. Matt Accord is a former Golden Knight.

HF Flying Circus did well and tied the world class Paraclete lineup in the AAA Class. The 21-pointer for the AA Class sequence was too much though, and Paraclete won the Open Class combo by two points. The February sequences are next in this exciting duel for the 14+ top spot...
