Did You Know...

... that the French 4-way juniors impress in the AAA/Open Class competition?

Coach Mathieu Cannesson with Aerokart Ak'demie 3
posted Apr 1st, 2018 - The Indoor Cloud League's 14+ leaderboard for the month of March did not remain unchanged for very long. The first submissions from the Czech ICL team at the Hurricane Factory added up to the first total of 125 points, which turned into 139 points just a day later.

One of the Czech Rookie Class teams, PB Fire, had performed all three Rookie Class sequences (RRR - RR - R) last month, as well, and outscored HF Flying Rebels (RR) and HF Dragonflies (R). The new team, who joined the Czech ICL team in January 2018 for the first time, turned the 18-pointer for the RR Class sequence into 21 and added another 11 points to the R Class highscore (24).

The new total of 139 points is the highest one so far for the 2018 season.

All March scores of the Hurricane Factory are now generated by 4-way senior teams, and the Czech 4-way juniors have the next opportunity to take over any of the six categories with the new April sequences. Four of the currently ten teams on the Czech March leaderboard are 4-way junior teams, and together they alone can cover all six ICL sequences (AAA - AA - A - RRR - RR - R).

The NSL News mentioned in yesterday's Indoor Cloud League update that one of the French Aerokart Ak'demie junior teams has already been competing in the AAA Class, as well, while they are still eligible for FAI/IPC's 4-way junior category (AA Class).

In fact, Cameron Malie, Eliot Massier, Oscar Massier and Tom Mattoni attended their third AAA Class competition this year at the French Indoor Nationals 2018, after winning the FAI/IPC gold medals in October 2017 in Montreal.

The AAA Class progression (19.2 - 20.0 - 22.8) has been just as impressive at the previous AA Class performance, and their former Aerokart Ak'demie project team mate, Kylian Forsans, is falling further behind with his new 4-way senior team, the Monaco Skydream Team. The Monaco lineup includes Stéphane Mattoni, who is probably enjoying to watch how his son Tom Mattoni is pulling away from his own team.

Ak'demie coach Mathieu Cannesson was barely able to save his own skin. He trains and competes with Tenanine, and his team was just able to turn a 4-point deficit into a 3-point advantage by winning the last two rounds. It will probably not take too long until the 4-way juniors will pass the Ak'demie coach's team, as well.

Odin Parachute Systems at the French Indoor Nationals
There was still one other 4-way junior competitor who outscored the Ak'demie team and all other French senior teams except for the Top 4.

Elisa Camproux has preferred to share the 4-way experience with her father Arnaud and their Odin Parachute Systems team. They started together in 4-way (Minions) and 8-way (Elisa and Friends) at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2017 and posted the first scores with Odin at last year's French Indoor Nationals at Weembi Lille.

The progression of the team is just as impressive as the one of the 4-way juniors, and Odin is also training outdoor 4-way in Pujaut, a small drop zone near Avignon. Manu Sarrazin, one of the most experienced 4-way and 8-way competitors in France, has been coaching the team.

It will probably not take too long until father and daughter will also open their parachutes together after a 4-way competition jump and add some outdoor scores to the indoor numbers. That might happen before the next Aerokart Akdemie members will jump from planes...
